  1. let's just make the whole night a complete failure and get no-hit by carpenter......
  2. marcum's cutter and fb are working, curve and changeup aren't, so i hope they ( luc and sm) adjust accordingly and shut thebirds down. stop throwing the kitchen sink....
  3. La Russa will easily outmanage R***** Ron and be the difference in this series. It will rip out my heart and I will be even less likely to follow the brewers in the future. Go Packers!
  4. Pujols on Morgan: "You wonder why he's been on three different ballclubs in the last year and a half, you know?" Might want to get your facts correct, but I guess Albert is above that. It's Nyjer's third team in 2 and a half years. Maybe he was thinking about a player a little closer to home - Lance Berkman - who's with his third different ballclub in the last year and a quarter. Wonder what Alberta thinks of Berkman? Hmmmm...... Note: Mods delete previous Post. Can't edit it with Apple & chrome so I am reposting.....
  5. tigers over yanks in 5 rays over rangers in 4 dbacks over brewers in 4 phils over cards in 5 tigers over rays in 6 phils over dbacks in 6 phils over tigers in 5
  6. was anyone else expecting jaime to go deep or was i the only one? when marcum loses his contol hes worse than jimmy haynes on the mound.
  7. i have a bad feeling we'll see win #1 for Jordan Lyles tonight....
  8. CC is now 0 for his last 35. He is 11 hitless at bats away from equaling a major league record that has stood since 1909....... 0 for 41 as of close of business July 28. 6 more futile at bats and we have a new record.....
  9. And how many times have I seen a Brewers player come back "early, or on time?" A lot. Like Greinke and Hart this year. oh wait......
  10. Prince's bat has been on vacation for a week, we might as well let his body have some time off too.
  11. Exactly how is it a no brainer? Someone with no brain makes that decision?
  12. i hate the manager and general manager and rhe +#%+$% players on this team and puppies and sunny days and everything
  13. This really seems like a great time to optimize use of our pitchers. We have 2-3 very good relievers. Why limit ourselves by assigning arbitrary roles? Because often people like to have set roles for their jobs. Players aren't robots and just like the average employee they like to know what their employer wants from them. If Axford is to remain the closer than I would rather see K-Rod used for the most critical situation in the game, whether that's the 6,7,or 8th inning. That sounds way too sensible so I'm sure the brewers won't implement something so radical. I think they will end up with KRod in the 8th and Ax as the closer. I just hope it's Hawkins/Saito sharing the 7th with the pitcher going at least 6.
  14. I feel bad for Hawkins. He has a major league track record of being a very good RP. He's been far from lights out this year, but he has been decent and should be in the mix when the brewers are leading or ahead. His manager is obviously mentally overmatched and continues to yank him around, while bending over backwards for a one year RP who clearly isn't that good (or does Loe bend over for RR) . He's talked about getting more innings, like he had to lead a blind child into the light, but he still get's yanked after a couple of hits to put in the dork, who has already lost 7 games and yet he's still being put into high leverage situations to screw up. So far I've been rooting for the Brewers and hope they can make the playoffs. Unfortunately, there are way more players and coaches on this team that if the team was out of contention I would be rooting for them to fail. Of the teams over the last few years where the brewers had a chance to be competitive this is the team that I like the least....
  15. Loe has a lot of value sitting on the bench with a lead or tie score.... Today our 4 best relievers pitched the 6th thru the 9th and that's how it should be with Saito and Hawkins exchanging the 7th inning. Loe should be only in the game if the brewers are behind or we go to extra innings. Is our manager smarter than a 6th grader? Don't think so.....
  16. The difference is in organizational attitude. or aptitude. What keeps driving me nuts is that we have "solutions" to the most of the issues in the organization. It's not like Melvin actually has to do any work to solve the problems. The lone exception for a in-house fix is the relievers. If Loe wasn't the designated goto man for the 8th a lot of the late inning losses would correct themselves. Really poor roster judgement on Melvin/RRs parts. Any time you are "all-in" with Yuni Bettancourt as your everyday SS means you just bet your hole pot on a pair of 2's......
  17. The Brewers didn't see him as a 3B since they had tried him out at OF and 2B mostly. Is that a point in the Brewers favor or against. The Jays seem to think he will succeed at 3B, the Brewers have been in search of a Long-Term solution at 3B for a long time. So were the Brewers just clueless? It wasn't because Green or Gamel were penciled in as the LT 3B. Green was off the radar and even his excellent 2011 season isn't making much of an impression on the brewers brain-fart that they are wavering from Casey "Hacking Mass" McGahee. To argue he was blocked by Weeks and then sent to another team who immediately move him to an area where the Brewers are week really indicates poor judgement by the Brewers or really gross incompetence. I think it's completely reasonable to say the Brewers thought they needed Marcum more than they needed Lawrie. All the peripheral arguments about attitude, blocked position, etc. are just knee jerk defense of the brewers crappy management.
  18. reading some of these IGT and i really miss the rants thread....... you know players have bad games. there aren't too many greg maddux, steve carlton, or bob gibson types who seem to always be perfect. given how horrible the defense, managing, and bullpen have been we are lucky to be in 1st by at least 2 games. maybe we will wear out the yankees tonight when they score 20 and we can take the next few games.....
  19. E. Not as in exceptional (unless we are talking special olympics), but lower than D and higher than an F. I didn't like the Yost hiring from day 1, but I was willing to give RR some time. I haven't seen anything that sets them apart at this point. There's a reason they were sitting on the bench for so long waiting for a managers gig......
  20. I completely disagree. I'd say less than 50% of HR hit in baseball are this easily classified. More than 50% are not a "good hit"? Maybe they're bloop singles out of control, or popups that the wind took, or maybe strikeouts that go very bad......
  21. From the blob posting: Roenicke did say he needs to start getting more production out of the bottom of the lineup, including catcher Jonathan Lucroy, who has falled off offensively the last couple of weeks. So RR is ok with Yuni and casey, but lucroy isn't doing his job. Game, Set, and Match! He's a moron......
  22. Well that was a crappy 9th from Hawkins..... clearly he's not an 8th inning option.....
  23. is latroy hawkins still on the team? mitre dead? An aging Hawkins is >> a rested young estrada. mitre > estrada. we can't get saito back soon enough.
