  1. Yeah, Lucroy really can't get back soon enough. It's really hard watching Kottaras and Nieves sometimes, each provide what the other lacks. Lucroy isn't going to be a world beater or anything, but he's probably the best all around catcher we have.
  2. On any given day this season, I think I'd like to see a lineup closer to this: 2B Weeks CF Morgan LF Braun 1B Fielder RF Hart 3B McGehee SS Betancourt/Counsell C Lucroy P I think it makes more sense to put some speed behind Prince, but someone who can also be a run producer. It makes double plays harder to turn if the hitter is quicker, but Hart also provides similar power and run production McGehee does. McGehee will still get his opportunities too. Ideally, I'd like to see us seek a different shortstop at some point this season, but gotta deal with what we have for now. I have been very unimpressed with Betancourt so far, and expectations we're already low to begin with.
  3. I wasn't there, but who can forget the free ball handout in...when was that? '98? '99?
  4. It has been disappointing to see what has become of Green, seems like he's been derailed by injuries a lot and then just hasn't been able to show enough when he is healthy. He's still only 24, so maybe there's a possibility for him as a utility player in the future? I've heard rumors of them thinking of trying him out at catcher, so that could also be a reason he'll be at AA again. Disappointed in the decision about Fiers as well, with how shallow our pitching depth is right now, don't you want to maximize all and any legit options you have?
  5. Gotta work for some of it, then just coming home to watch the rest and throw back a few. I'm jealous of all you guys who have off to watch it, Opening Day is one of the best days of the year.
  6. I know it's a "coulda, woulda, shoulda" type comment, but the pick right after Evan Frederickson was Mike Montgomery. Would be pretty nice to have him right now, but just goes to show how unpredictable these drafts are.
  7. Luckily we got a roof on the joint, as the talking heads like to say, we're "weatherproof". 50 and sunny should be good tomorrow, players will probably be missing 70 though. Edit: Just to be clear, 'talking heads' meaning sports analysts, not the band. Burning down the house!
  8. Right, pretty sure Lawrie would have been starting at AAA this year as well if he was still a Brewer, though maybe seeing time more in RF than 3B. I'm interested to see if he'll stick at 3B, reports have always been kind of bi-polar when it came to evaluating his glove. I'm surprised Cain didn't make it as a backup OF, I imagine Cain will be their backup plan if Alex Gordon doesn't work out in LF.
  9. Agreed. His OBP certainly warrants him leading off, but I'm still in the boat of wanting to see what he can do with more RBI opportunities. If all goes well for Weeks and he stays healthy, he could be a 30/20 guy.
  10. I'll say 87 wins and 1st place. I like the idea of Greinke being the least worked pitcher down the stretch.
