  1. any chance Walsh can play SS enough to be the back up there? Right now not seeing a way we can keep Walsh. Infield alone you have Carter Gennett Hill Villar Rivera Cecchini Middlebrooks
  2. Alright, to revise my own lineup from earlier today after the Segura deal Regular Lineup: SS Villar(Arcia after he is called up) C Lucroy RF Braun LF Davis 1b Carter 2b Gennett CF Liriano 3b Cecchini OD Lineup SS Villar C Lucroy RF Braun LF Davis 1b Carter 3b Hill CF Liriano 2b Walsh
  3. With the recent acquisition, Right now my opening day lineup would be Against bumgarner: 3b Villar C Lucroy Rf Braun Lf Davis 1b Carter Cf Liriano 2b Walsh Ss Segura P Nelson
  4. I think people are forgetting about Flores a little bit, I can't imagine Stearns traded Sardines for him just to outright him, gotta think hell get a legitimate shot in the majors
  5. Hoping he is our opening day center fielder. Would love to see what he can do with every day at bats. His stats look really promising
  6. If I knew what number they would be I'd go get their jersey right now. Pretty confident Phillips will be #7 but you never know
  7. Sunday whether on the road or at home. So does that mean only gray on the road the rest of the time? Cause as far as I know we don't have another road alternate. Which would be weird since the last couple years it seems like we rarely wear gray.
  8. Does anyone know, are these just sunday jerseys or are these the road alternates to?
  9. Sounds like it will be worn every sunday home or away. Will it be worn during the week to? We wear our road alternates so often I would assume so. Really like it as far as a blend between the two. Love that the yellow replaces the gold and that the retro logo Is on it. Will definitely have to pick up an arcia or Phillips. The real question is will these make it on the show??
  10. I will be pulling for him. Guessing if he does make the team it is as a long reliever/ spot starter/ 2nd lefty out of the pen. and I can't complain if they decide to keep someone like a Ariel Pena or Zack Jones over him but I will be pulling for him
  11. 1) Jonathan Lucroy 2) Orlando Arcia 3) Brett Phillips 4) Jimmy Nelson 5) Khris Davis 6) Will Smith 7) Ryan Braun 8) Taylor Jungmann 9) Jorge Lopez 10) Jeremy Jeffress
  12. Hopefully itll be Arcia once he is up, until then I'm thinking cecchini or villar to start the year
  13. Knowing what we know now would you guys still make those deals and in the future would you guys want to make those type of moves in similar situations or would you rather hold onto our young guys for a longer possible window of contention. Me personally, I am happy with how those moves turned out but unless we have a real shot at a world series I would not make similiar moves in the future. Curious how others feel
  14. I'm guessing if they have to hold one back at triple-A they'd probably default to Lopez as his ceiling may be higher and they have a longer investment history with him. One other note, I would also bet that Smith doesn't close to start the season if he's with the team. It makes more long-term sense to me to test Jeffress at a full-time closer role now as Smith looks like prime trade bait. Even if Smith starts the season with the team he's the one that fits a need on 90% of the other clubs come deadline time. I think that's the exact reason Smith starts in the closer role. More likely to deal him so let him build up his value then move jeffress there after the deadline
  15. After reading this thread I like the idea of breaking up the power guys. What about something like... How I would do it, not how I expect it. 3b Cecchini/Villar C Lucroy LF Davis RF Braun CF Santana 2b Gennett/Walsh 1b Carter SS Segura
  16. I'll go Starters Nelson Garza Peralta Jungmann Davies RP Smith(closer) Jeffress Knebel Thornburg Blazek Jones Hagadone Although I'd like to fit Pena and Guerra in there as well somewhere
  17. If everything stays the same(unlikely) ill go LHP 3b Villar 2b Walsh Rf Braun C Lucroy Lf Davis 1b Carter Cf Young Jr SS Segura Rhp 2b Gennett 3b Cecchini RF Braun C Luc LF Davis 1b Carter CF Neuiwenhaus SS Segura
  18. I think this puts them right up there with the mets as far as pitching goes. Bumgarner Cueto Jeff S Peavy Cain Heston, thats dang good. I actually love it for San Fran with the opt out. chances are hell get a big contract after that and not be worth it so they'll get two years to use and then let someone else overpay for him. Looks like Brewers get Bum, Cueto and Jeff S to start the year, hope our new bats are ready for some tests.
  19. I don't mind it, Much rather have Zimmermann at 5/110 than what Cueto Price and Greinke will go far probably. P.S. should update the thread title so the name is correct. Zimmermann*
  20. any chance we move Garza to the pen next year, either as a set up man or possibly even the closer, He is already expensive so putting him at closer helps keep Smith and Jeffress' arb numbers down, and could possibly build value as a good bullpen arm. Plus this would let us start a young rotation next year of Nelson Peralta Jungmann Davies and Lopez. Kind of an outside the box idea.
  21. has been pitching quite well in AA, interesting call up passing on thornburg and jungmann. will be interested to see how he does.
  22. hoping its blazek, would like to see what he has as a starter. as far as lohse or garza goes, still have thornburg and jungmann in the minors so both should still be able to be dealt.
  23. To be fair, that was the first time Mattingly had been thrown out this year. even RRR had done that earlier in the year.
