  1. wow, surprised to see Soup go with like 85 pitches on a weak 1-out single
  2. have they shown any shots of Sheeter? Is he with the team right now?
  3. upcoming jinx on Rickie after the make note of his great fielding and 1.000 pct
  4. http://www.wpla.net/images/cecil%20fielder.JPGhttp://webzoom.freewebs.com/hofautographmaster/Fielder.jpg Well if this is how Cecil developed, it will be interesing to watch how Prince does.
  5. they keep hitting it hard, just at the wrong spots. That combined with the umping is making it tough.. and just as i say that Prince with a double
  6. yeah gameday shows the 3 called strikes in the 2nd inning vs the Brewers all 6 inches off the plate. Guess Rickie p'd him off by complaining. Then that first pitch to Encanarcian was clear strike..ball was completely over the plate.
  7. Cueto does not seem to have his good stuff today. The Crew is all putting great wood on the ball so far.
  8. I don't know what you were watching last year, but most of the pitching meltdowns started right after a good Yost undressing.
  9. yeah i don't see the openings coming in the outfield either necessarily. I think Braun and Hart are probably long-term players, then you have LaPorta, Iribarren, Gwynn, and others still that will see playing time. Clearly Escobar is pushing for a starting spot and he will be tough to beat along with Hardy, but I would think second or third are also viable options. Those are pretty weak positions for the organization right now. But just look at the club and there is already 2 long-term locks in the outfield..then half our top 16 or so prospects are in the OF, with others like Gamel struggling in the field at third...
  10. the bad thing about getting out of the inning so quickly is that Yost now thinks he can go 8
  11. amazing how they can look completely lost one night on defense then look like studs the next.
  12. all hands who have been convinced to watch the Bucks vs T-wolves after the subliminal commercial they just flashed
  13. no matter what the lineup is, JJ is going to hit in front of the pitcher, if all starters are in the lineup.. right now the only guy you could argue should hit in front of the pitcher aside from him is Gross or Counsell.
  14. yeah that double play was lightning quick; both guys out by a mile
  15. Bush definitely brought his A game tonight. A lot more speed on his pitches and he's hitting his locations. The only run against him was total BS. He's getting squeezed in an away game and he's doing well. Definitely looks like McClung is the guy out right now.
  16. Suppan gave up 6 runs to Marquis' 2. Suppan both LOOKED awful and GAVE UP RUNS; not so much for Marquis. With how quickly he's gone to the pen all year, it should start to take its toll soon. He should be trying to get his starters to eat up innings, and Marquis could have been good for another 2 yet. The guy replacing him gave up 3 immediately without recording an out.
  17. I don't know. I've followed a few of the games and thought he had a pretty quick trigger finger at times. Today, Marquis' pitch count was high after 5 innings, at 86.. but did he need to go to the pen at 86 pitches, with the starter having given 2 over 5 innings. That's unnecessary to me when you are trying to save your pen.

  20. right now, you have to question how early & often Lou has gone to his pen. Marmol has been way overworked, and they went to the pen early yet again in the 6th today.. considering all the extra innings games, it is only a matter of time before those arms are done.
