  1. I am all for trying the Waxahachie Swap at some point this season. Statistically speaking based on splits, Alex Claudio and Freddy Peralta would be the perfect pairing for such a maneuver.
  2. That was unfortunately predictable. Claudio facing a right-handed hitting power bat with runners on base is a recipe for disaster.
  3. From MLB.com... Christian Yelich's home run in the fourth inning Saturday against the Mets was his 14th of the season, which ties him with Albert Pujols (2006) and Alex Rodriguez (2007) for the most home runs all time before May. He has three games remaining in the month of April (after tonight) to break the record.
  4. Have to give Alonso credit for that play on Shaw at third. For as terrible as his throwing mistake was in the 1st inning, he may have just saved the Mets from suffering even more damage this inning.
  5. Second night in a row the Brewers have had the bases loaded with one out in the 2nd inning and were left with nothing to show for it.
  6. I think someone mentioned this earlier this week, but coming into this series the Brewers had played 24 of their last 33 games against the Dodgers and Cardinals (going back to last season). It’s nice to have that stretch over with and now facing some different, albeit still tough, opponents.
  7. My favorite part was Cain slapping d'Arnaud‘s chest protector as he rounded third base.
  8. I really like Gamel as a #9 hitter from the standpoint I think he can be a decent OBP guy.

  10. This collection of Brewers hitters combined also had a nearly .800 career OPS versus deGrom entering this evening. For whatever reason they’ve had his number before.
  11. That Lorenzo Cain catch might have been his best home run robbery to date.
  12. Not to mention with Yelich on deck who over his career versus deGrom has 14 hits in 32 at bats.
  13. Ranked #26 overall on the Pro Football Focus Big Board... 26. C ELGTON JENKINS, MISSISSIPPI STATE The Mississippi State center allowed all of five pressures this past season on 369 pass-blocking snaps.

  15. He seemed to have a lot of helium of late. We will never know, but I’m not convinced he was going to make it until #30. Also, man do I wish MLB teams could trade picks on the night of the draft.

  17. Now would be a good time to manufacture a run. Glad the ump held up on calling a strike there since it is a pitch location he has called a strike most of the night.
  18. The $18 million on Grandal was money well spent, IMO. What difference making pitcher would this team have acquired this off-season instead for $18 million?
  19. There is 137 games remaining in the season. It's impossible for the sky to fall this early. I heard today on the Effectively Wild podcast that the Yankees currently have 13 players on the IL that account for a total of more than 32 WAR from last year. Key injuries in mass are as close to an early season doomsday scenario as I can come up with. BTW, Yankees are 12-10.
