  1. Stripling still has a pitch count in the 50’s part way through the 6th inning. One of those days I guess.
  2. Joc Peterson missed a home run by a few feet in the 1st inning, unfortunately he didn’t miss this time.
  3. Nice to see Travis Shaw with a good 8 pitch at-bat culminating in a well hit double.
  4. Warning before you look at the past pitcher versus batter results, the Dodgers have hit Chacín very well in previous outings. Bellinger is already on an otherworldly hot streak as it is, maybe not the worst day to pitch around him.

  6. Zach Davies has now thrown 21.0 career innings at Dodger Stadium. He has only given up two runs total over that span, both solo home runs.
  7. I think people are aware Braun has struggled. All three were especially brutal in the Angels series, they combined to go 1-for-29 with 13 strikeouts.
  8. The swing and miss from Shaw lately is alarming. He has missed some pitches very badly over the past week, doesn’t seem like he is seeing the ball well at all.
  9. That was a short, pretty swing from Moustakas. He is probably hitting it the best of anyone right now after Yelich and Grandal.
  10. Normally I feel old when I realize I’m now older than most of the players, but tonight’s replacement umpire behind home plate, Jeremie Rehak, is just 31 years old. So far one poor call on the inside pitch for a called third strike against Grandal.
  11. bullpen game? how so? The Dodgers are starting a player that has thus far only pitched in relief appearances this season (7 total outings) and are expected to go to the bullpen early. Long relief right-handed hurler Dennis Santana is also expected to pitch tonight.
  12. Jesús Aguilar with a big double last night, but now comes into tonight’s game with one less extra base hit than Chris Davis has in 2019.
  13. Lineup is posted. Grandal is up to the #4 spot, and Aguilar and Shaw are moved down to the #6 and #7 spots.
  14. A windy day at Wrigley makes it even easier to see who’s on top of the NL Central standings.

  16. Now 14 games into the season, Christian Yelich has a 1.213 OPS and Yasmani Grandal has a 1.162 OPS.
  17. I completely understand why they had to take Hader out, but I am officially a little nervous now. EDIT: Wow, that was risky flip by Arcia.
  18. The good news is Hader got out of that seriously scary bases loaded jam. The bad news is he has thrown 32 pitches with another inning to go.
  19. I don’t think Josh is trying to locate all of these pitches so far up and in. Seems like he is struggling a bit with his command.
