  1. Well if any pitcher on the Dodgers is capable of sparking a big inning for the Brewers it’s Kelly.
  2. Belt high fastball on 0-2. Game blown and Hader is now on the shelf for the rest of the weekend.... sigh.
  3. Yelich is currently on pace for 235 RBI this season and we might need every one of them.
  4. I so bad want for Claudio to make me look like a dummy. Hope he can continue to build off his past two decent outings.
  5. Arcia was trying to pull that one. Swung out of his shoes. Edit: Then a jammed for a weak pop-up to the pitcher.
  6. The offense can afford for one of those guys to have a disappointing season, but certainly not all three.
  7. Agreed, a little surprised he gave Stripling the quick hook tonight, figured he would last six.
  8. His 3rd HR was left of center. Here is Arcia’s career home run log. Looks like 11 of 25 have been to LF, not including those to straightaway CF.
  9. Brewers going with the six straight lefties in the #2 to #7 spots versus Stripling. The unfortunate part is for his career Stripling has reverse splits and is actually much tougher on left-handed hitters than right-handed batters.

  11. Any guesses on who gets the first hit of the night for the Brewers?... yes, I’m assuming they get one at some point.
  12. I know this isn’t any new revelation, but the Brewers really can’t afford both Aguilar and Shaw to be in a massive slump at the same time for an extended period this season.
  13. I still refer to that exact deal as “the Aramis Ramirez”.
  14. Disappointing to see Lorenzo Cain chase ball four in his first at-bat.
  15. Random meaningless stat, April 18th last year was Davies best start of the season in terms of both the length of innings pitched and earned runs. He gave up just 3 hits and 0 runs to the Reds over 6.1 innings pitched at Miller Park. He didn’t have another outing where he didn’t give up earned runs and he never lasted more than 6.0 innings the rest of the season. Obviously he didn’t pitch from the Brewers from June through August either.
  16. I’ll forever believe that if the Pirates hadn’t swept the Brewers in that 5-game series in July they would have never made the Archer trade. The recency bias of that series made them believe they were something that they clearly weren’t. It really seemed like they got caught up in the emotion of wanting to be relevant heading into the last couple of months of the season, and they made a trade that from the moment it was finalized had a high potential to haunt them for a really long time.

  18. Posted in the In-Game Thread as well: The Cardinals are 1-5 versus the Brewers and 8-2 versus the rest of their schedule. The Brewers are 10-2 versus their NL Central rivals so far. There are still 64 games to play against the four others in the Central, but a good start!
  19. Every team in the NL Central currently has an even or better run differential. Coming into this game the Cardinals are 1-5 versus the Brewers and 8-2 versus the rest of their schedule. The Brewers are 10-2 versus their NL Central rivals so far. There are still 64 games to play against the four others in the Central, but that is a heckuva start. Lastly, today would be a great day for the Brewers to turn around their luck versus Michael Wacha.

  21. It does seem weird they pulled Goldschmidt for Wieters in a game that was still within striking distance.
