  1. Why do four innings feel like they already played a day/night doubleheader? Time to get the bats going against Buehler!
  2. Can we at least wait until the Brewers give up the lead to have this NLCS Game 3 in-game thread spiral out of control?
  3. How do I know Joe Buck hasn’t watched a single Brewers game before this series?... he is talking about Cain limping as if he is hurt.
  4. I know it was versus Grandal and the pitcher, but getting out of that situation unscathed feels like a great break.
  5. Well Buehler has thrown 37 pitches through 2 innings and we have the top of the order starting the 3rd inning, so some positives beyond just the 1-0 lead.
  6. As an aside, the Brewers are wearing their best current uniforms in my opinion. I believe they haven’t worn this look in nearly a month.
  7. This is the game in this series that I am by far the least confident in the Brewers chances, but I am excited as heck to watch it. LET’S GOOOOOOOOOO!
  8. Based on the early videos being posted of the strong Santa Ana winds gusting in at Dodger Stadium it should be a very tough hitting environment tonight. Hopefully Chacín can limit the walks and pitch with the confidence of knowing most balls hit in the air tonight are going to be outs.
  9. If you were already worried about tonight's game this isn't going to help, but it is worth reading... Jhoulys Chacin’s Matchup Problem
  10. ZiPS updated playoff probabilities for the NLCS look to be in line with about what I would have guessed. [pre]Game Home Team Milwaukee Starter Brewers Win Los Angeles Starter Dodgers Win 1 Brewers Gio Gonzalez 100.0% Clayton Kershaw 0.0% 2 Brewers Wade Miley 0.0% Hyun-Jin Ryu 100.0% 3 Dodgers Jhoulys Chacin 38.6% Walker Buehler 61.4% 4 Dodgers Bullpen? 55.3% Rich Hill 44.7% 5 Dodgers Gio Gonzalez? 39.8% Clayton Kershaw? 60.2% 6 Brewers Wade Miley? 49.1% Hyun-Jin Ryu? 50.9% 7 Brewers Jhoulys Chacin? 44.8% Walker Buehler? 55.2%[/pre] Assuming Games 3, 4, 5 actually break the way they are supposed to (obviously unlikely) and then the Brewers win the coin flip in Game 6, we would be in for a heck of Game 7 at Miller Park.

  12. I wouldn’t call the “magical season a waste”, but the part I certainly agree with is that I would be less stressed watching World Series games than these current NLCS games. Winning the NL Pennant and making the World Series is such a huge accomplishment, especially for a team that has been to one WS in its existence. While we will certainly all remember this run regardless of the NLCS outcome, I think a World Series appearance would legitimize the Brewers success by unorthodox means this season to a much greater extent. Especially since the national narrative surrounding the NLDS was that the Rockies were a joke. As an aside, at Game 163 I befriended a couple of Cubs fans who seemed like fairly knowledgeable baseball fans overall. They made some reference to the Brewers never winning the NL Central before. I reminded them about the 2011 team that won the division and played in the NLCS. They seemed truly dumbfounded, they didn’t have any recollection of it. Granted the Cubs were pretty bad at the time, but I think, while purely anecdotal, it speaks a little bit to the difference between a World Series appearance versus an NLCS.
