2018 Standings and Playoff Race Discussion
Eye Black replied to Eye Black's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Random observation, the Cardinals are now closer in the standings to the Pirates than they are to the Brewers. Hard to believe considering they entered the week only 2.0 GB of the Brewers. -
Giants have loaded the bases against the Dodgers in the 4th of a 1-1 game. A chance to do some damage against Ryu. Edit: An inning ending double play has other ideas.
-
Mikolas v. Hamels followed by Flaherty v. Montgomery. Hard to imagine the Cardinals dropping both of those with their season hanging in the balance. Hoping the Dodgers fall tonight to keep it interesting through Sunday.
-
Yep, I believe if they win the next two they will at least force a game 163 at Wrigley on Monday. I don’t think the Cubs will sweep the Cardinals, and if they do I guess you just tip your cap and prepare for the Wild Card Game.
-
My heart skipped for a second on that last swing. I’m worse than Cubs fans.
-
Can’t walk this guy. Come on JJ.
-
I was actually worried that Jordan Zimmermann was going to come out tonight looking like Billy Chapel in his final game.
-
Bounced off Castellanos’ glove and rolled over the top of the fence.
-
Hahahaha, Amazing. Thank you Ryan Braun (ft. Nick Castellanos)!
-
Now I really wish Braun would have scored from second on Moose’s bloop single earlier.
-
Hope Hader finds his command again before next week.
-
Not sure I like the idea of letting it ride with Hader right now.
-
Well looks like the Brewers have some work to do now.
-
The Exit Velocities of the Tigers five straight hits in the 1st inning...
-
I can’t imagine two teams have ever each scored three runs in the 1st inning of a game any differently than these two just did.
-
WOW... WOW... Christian Yelich!!!!!!
-
Wow, this is crazy bad luck so far.
-
I have had a bad feeling about tonight’s game all day. I really hope I am proven wrong.
-
Amen! It is hard to fathom that this could be the last four games of Brewers baseball until February. Come on Crew! I was thinking the same thing, crazy that the season could be over as soon as Tuesday or go as long as the end of October. Either way, lots of things to be excited about in both the present and future.

If I’m going to do this, I am going to make it a magical run! So assuming the standings stay as they are currently... WC: Brewers beat Dodgers in close back-and-forth heart pounding game. NLDS: Brewers beat Cubs in five games (3-2), game five is an offensive display from the Brewers at Wrigley. NLCS: Brewers beat Rockies in six games (4-2), Brewers get down 0-2 in series and come storming back. WS: Brewers beat Indians in seven games (4-3), an epic Game 7 is played at Miller Park with the Brewers winning their first World Championship. Offensive MVP(s): Lorenzo Cain and Christian Yelich Pitching MVP: Josh Hader Most Surprising Player: Corbin Burnes (breaks onto the national scene) and Jonathan Schoop (has a couple of game altering hits) Most Disappointing Player: Gio Gonzalez (has some rough starts)
