  1. The good news is our offense still gets to face the Cardinals bullpen four more times.
  2. Well he has only hit into 10 this year in over 600 plate appearances, but no better time for an 11th!
  3. Unfortunately it feels like the first team to double-digit runs is going to win tonight. Need to trade a run for a double play here.
  4. Was Santana announced ? I hope not , wish they let him hit instead of Thames there Yes, the box score has Santana as burned.
  5. Yes, best available for the Wild Card Game came up as the 4th row of the Field Diamond Platinum (forget which section). I chose to stick with my normal location, the Loge Infield seats.
  6. Jon Heyman was on 670 The Score in Chicago this morning talking about the MVP race and said that winning the division matters in his opinion. He said it is a two horse race in which he had Baez ahead a few days ago, but now has them as nearly even. He also said he thinks Yelich is an average outfield defender despite his gold glove, while he thinks Baez is an underrated defender because he plays multiple positions. Obviously this was on a Chicago radio station, so he was likely to say nice things about Baez. I primarily note these comments because Heyman has an MVP vote.
  7. You can never assume a sweep, even over the worst teams in baseball. That being said, if we knew right now that the Brewers were going to pull off a sweep against the Tigers at Miller Park this weekend, they would have a legitimate chance to catch the Cubs for at least a tie of the division title. The room for error is thin, but if the Brewers split the last two games of the Cardinals series and win out versus the Tigers, the Cubs would have to finish 4-2 versus the Pirates (3 remaining games) and Cardinals (3 games) in order to win the division outright.

  9. Haudricourt says neck spasms as well. Still not great, but better than some of the scenarios presented. For a short time this IGT went to a dark place.
  10. Jeffress was unavailable because of neck spasms. Counsell says he is day to day. That was via this Jay Cohen Tweet.
  11. Josh Kusnick retweeted a normal Jeremy Jeffress video 6 hours ago, so I doubt anything was afoot then. He probably just has a stomach bug. Haha, just noticed that myself as well!
  12. Well if there is Jeffress news coming, Twitter doesn’t appear to know it yet.
  13. 43 page thread and we don’t even know what’s wrong with Jeffress yet.
  14. I guess it will be telling after the game if Counsell announces what is going on with Jeffress or skirts around it. I wish BA would have expounded a little more on what he meant.
  15. Jeffress last pitched on his birthday on Friday night. Only 10 pitches and seemed fine afterwards. As others stated, hope it is just a 24-hour illness.
