  1. They were reportedly second on Quintana, and likely used one or more of the trade pieces that didn’t move in that deal to acquire Christian Yelich. There is a chance that if the Quintana deal does happen that the Yelich deal never occurs. These situations are fluid and I trust that Stearns will shift his assets to improve the team in other areas. Also, receiving praise over trade rumors is likely the last thing on Stearns’ mind.
  2. From MLB Pipeline: The #Orioles will reportedly receive Yusniel Diaz (#Dodgers No. 4), Dustin May (No. 10) and Errol Robinson (No. 18) from the @Dodgers in exchange for Manny Machado: https://atmlb.com/2mvuj3v Still just speculation and some have since expressed considerable surprise that both Yusniel Diaz and Dustin May would be included. In Baseball Prospectus’ “The Midseason Top 50” they have Diaz ranked at #31 and May ranked at #37 in all of baseball. If that ends up being true I am not sure how the Brewers could have beaten that offer short of including Keston Hiura.
  3. Ok I believe the image in that tweet has been determined to be fake. Has it been? I have a hard time believing a tweet at that point in time while he was an extremely successful minor leaguer wouldn't have immediately been scooped up by umpteen reporters following him on twitter. Yes, it is a doctored tweet that was sent by someone else, not Josh Hader. Here is the LINK.
  4. Here is the Journal Sentinel Article... Inflammatory old tweets surface from Josh Hader’s Twitter account; pitcher apologizes after All-Star Game

  6. WOW 2 YEARS AGO. If that isn't a doctored screenshot, man... Unacceptable. Just trash. Apologies are great and all, but they don't mean much when you spew this kind of bile for years. I don't want to root for this guy anymore. Someone in the replies claimed that one was fake. I have no idea, but it seems like a Tweet that while he was already a member of the Brewers organization would have gotten noticed. Every single other tweet revealed tonight is from either 2011 or 2012. Also, why would that topic have been tweeted about in January of 2016? Am I missing something?
  7. Believe it or not this subject can be discussed without using language that is prohibited on this board. Any posts that don’t comply will be deleted.
  8. Here is some more from Hader... LINK: Josh Hader said he was deeply sorry. “I’m ready for any consequences.” He said he was “young, immature and stupid.” LINK: Josh Hader: “As a child I was immature. I said some things that are inexcusable.” He said they do not reflect is current beliefs. “There’s no excuse.” LINK: Josh Hader: “I was 17 years old .. I obviously said some things that were inexcusable ... I’m deeply sorry.”
  9. From Bob Nightengale... Brewers reliever Josh Hader said his racist and homophobic tweets were a sign of immaturity when he was 17 and plans to apologize to his teammates, saying they don’t reflect on him as a person now. ‘No excuses. I was dumb and stupid.
  10. From Bill Shaikin... MLB chief legal officer Dan Halem says Josh Hader will talk tonight. League will consider statement tomorrow.
  11. From Jeff Passan... Some members of Josh Hader’s family, wearing his All-Star replica jersey, have taken them off and been given generic jerseys without his name on the back.
  12. Amazing. Scooter and Segura battling it out for the 2018 All-Star Game MVP award. Maybe co-MVPs. What universe is this?
  13. I enjoy the All-Star Game, but the obvious downside is a 26-pitch outing like that could potentially effect his availability for Friday.
  14. It is sort of an anticlimactic finish to the whole thing. From Ken Rosenthal... Can report with more certainty: Machado to #Dodgers happening. Among remaining questions, in addition to specifics of return beyond OF Yusniel Diaz: How much money, if any, #Orioles will send #Dodgers to secure a better package and help ease LAD’s luxury-tax concerns.
  15. Does anyone know the specifics of the Dodgers current situation with the luxury tax threshold? It doesn’t sound like they are shedding any salary back to the Orioles (prospect only return), so I am wondering where Manny’s remaining $7 million would put them? Maybe they aren’t taking on all of Manny’s remaining salary which may have also been a reason the prospect return seems like an overpay.
  16. I wonder what the likely hood is that Burnes was in the deal (despite reports) and it still wasn't good enough? I would be shocked if Corbin Burnes was part of the offer. My guess is the Brewers offer included two of the following three players: Woodruff, Ortiz, Phillips. Beyond two of those players I would guess they offered a third (and maybe fourth) prospect.
  17. [sarcasm]Conspiracy theory prediction: The Brewers trade the farm for Jacob deGrom and then Stearns takes over the Mets farm (and big league club).[/sarcasm]
