  1. Domingo pulled after two at bats today. What is Happening? Sorry, couldn’t resist.
  2. Reported by Darren Wolfson last night... The #Brewers and #Giants are among the teams with scouts in Toronto for the #MNTwins -Jays series, per Jays TV analyst Pat Tabler. My commentary: Milwaukee has to have a 2018 book by now on all Twins, minus Ervin Santana.
  3. Per Adam McCalvy Article... The Brewers have been linked to a number of starters on the trade market, and they have had a scout in attendance for at least one of Rays right-hander Chris Archer's recent starts.
  4. I see the Nationals have 6 runs on just 2 hits. Rough day.
  5. Per Ken Rosenthal... Official: #RedSox get Eovaldi for LHP Jalen Beeks.

  7. In terms of NL division races both the Pirates (6.0 GB) and Giants (4.5 GB) are now closer to winning their respective divisions than the Nationals (7.0 GB).
  8. This is actually an interesting idea, but who would we match up with them on? They'd have no need for Domingo, otherwise that could be a good 1 for 1 type deal. I'm guessing they'd probably have interest in Thames to play 1B for them, but I would hate to give up ET's big left handed bat in our lineup (even though we don't have enough room for all of our OF's and 1B). My thought was Thames. Maybe a bigger trade with the Yanks including Sonny Gray and the Brewers throwing in a prospect (one subject to Rule 5)? The Yankees aren’t in a position to take on prospects subject to the upcoming Rule 5 draft as they may very well have the highest number of quality prospects that will require protecting this offseason of any team in baseball.
  9. Via David Adler of MLB.com’s Statcast staff... Lorenzo Cain's sprint speed scoring the walk-off run for the Brewers on a 257-foot sac fly: 30.1 feet per second. 30+ is elite.
  10. Speaking of monthly splits, the Washington Nationals went 20-7 in May this year and are just 16-28 since.
  11. If the Brewers win tomorrow they will be up to a .500 record for the month of July. That would be quite an accomplishment considering how bleak things have looked recently.
  12. So by tomorrow afternoon? I wouldn’t count on that happening. I would be happy with a Dozier acquisition at some point.
  13. Yes, he was selected #4 overall by the Rangers in the 2015 MLB Draft. He was highly rated, but experienced some struggles and injuries early in his pro career. He has seemingly turned a corner since he joined the Yankees organization in 2016 (he had been traded along with two other pitching prospects for Carlos Beltran). Somewhat surprisingly Tate (24 years old) hasn’t yet pitched above Double-A.
  14. [sarcasm]How many ABs before you can declare the dreaded Home Run Derby swing mechanics regression in play.[/sarcasm]
  15. Well the Cubs lose, this would be a great night to walk-it-off in the bottom of the 9th.
  16. I know his results haven’t been pretty this year, but the Ryan Braun opposite field double is still a thing of beauty.
  17. That feels good and makes this game infinitely more watchable, thank you Christian Yelich!!!
  18. The Yankees are facing a significant roster crunch this off-season and they traded three players that were set to be Rule 5 eligible this December for Zach Britton. I am guessing they would have placed Dillon Tate on their 40-man roster to protect him, but I have seen estimates that they are set to lose several players in the Rule 5 unless they continue trading from their farm system depth.
  19. From MLB Trade Rumors: The Zach Britton bidding war looks to have come to an end, as the Yankees have reportedly reached an agreement to acquire the left-hander from the Orioles in exchange for minor league pitchers Dillon Tate, Cody Carroll and Josh Rogers. The reported agreement has yet to be announced by either club and is said to still be pending medical reviews — a major final hurdle to clear, especially when considering Baltimore’s previous history of nixing or delaying deals over medical concerns.
