  1. Oh wow, the Brewers just did a Coach Cooper approved Tweet (Link).
  2. Maybe this is the year Craigtember gives way to Craigtober.
  3. I am really surprised the Dodgers didn’t challenge that. Looked like his foot left the bag early to me.
  4. It’s nice to be playing someone other than the Cardinals, even if it’s arguably the best team in baseball.
  5. Brewers offense looking nice this inning.
  6. Was reminded today of Freddie Freeman’s comments a few years ago about Miller Park. Freddie Freeman tweaks Miller Park as 'bad-lit Little League field' The Brewers have since replaced the stadium lights with LED lighting (and both games are likely to be during the day), so unfortunately Freddie will probably see the ball just fine (not to mention he was crushing the ball at Miller Park even when he was claiming he couldn’t see the ball.
  7. Yes, the Giants magic number is 2. The Giants have three games against the Padres while the Dodgers obviously have these three games against the Brewers. Here are the various scenarios… Giants go either 3-0 or 2-1 against the Padres …or… the Dodgers go 0-3 or 1-2 against the Brewers: Giants win the division and the Dodgers play in NL Wild Card game next Wednesday. Giants go 1-2, Dodgers sweep Brewers 3-0 …or… Giants go 0-3 and Dodgers go 2-1: Giants and Dodgers play a game 163 on Monday to determine who will win the division. Giants go 0-3, Dodgers sweep Brewers 3-0: Dodgers win the division and the Giants play in the NL Wild Card game next Wednesday.
  8. Reminder of how good Eric Lauer has been against the Dodgers to this point in his career… [pre]W L ERA GS IP H R ER HR BB IBB SO HBP BF WHIP SO9 6 0 1.89 8 47.2 36 11 10 6 14 1 46 0 194 1.049 8.7[/pre] [pre]PA AB R H 2B 3B HR SB BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS 194 179 11 36 7 0 6 0 14 46 .201 .259 .341 .600[/pre]

  10. Now that the matchup is set lets dedicate a thread to previewing the Brewers versus Braves in the NLDS.
  11. This is actually a little disappointing, I like the postseason patches… Source: No MLB Postseason Patch on Caps or Jerseys in 2021 Supply chain issues are reportedly the culprit, so at least it’s likely temporary to just this season. At least it does sound like they are expected to still be worn in the World Series.
  12. Keston Hiura has been recalled, Hoby Milner optioned.
  13. Some light reading for those interested, from Ben Clemens of FanGraphs: How Well Do Our Playoff Odds Work?
  14. Brett Anderson: Batter (Cardinals) vs Pitching Stats J.A. Happ: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats Statcast Game Preview for Cardinals-Brewers Statcast Game Feed for Cardinals-Brewers
  15. Updated NL ERA Leaderboard: Corbin Burnes - 2.29 ERA Max Scherzer - 2.46 ERA Walker Buehler - 2.49 ERA Brandon Woodruff - 2.56 ERA Zack Wheeler - 2.78 ERA
  16. Max Scherzer has given up 9 hits and 5 runs (4 earned) through his first 3.2 IP against the Padres so far tonight.
  17. Some of these pitches from Ashby make it difficult to remain levelheaded about my expectations for him.
  18. They should try roughing up Jack Flaherty here a little bit, IMO.
  19. From this article in The Athletic, Brewers’ Devin Williams punches a wall, suffers knockout blow:
  20. Manny Piña has that home run swing down of late. Could be in line for some important late game opportunities in the playoffs.
  21. I know the Cardinals have been otherworldly lately, but I won’t be surprised if they get blown out in the Wild Card game. It feels like they’ve already cashed in too much devil magic just to get to this point.
  22. Game is moving fast tonight. Alright Vogelbach! While this game is meaningless, I’d certainly like to end the Cards streak tonight so we don’t have to hear about it anymore.
  23. I think a good thing to keep in mind is no matter how many personal anecdotes we may all have, projecting our own experiences on someone we don’t really know can be a hazardous exercise.
