Rough way to give up the lead. Ashby doesn’t seem to have much feel for his pitches today. -
I know they had to go for the chance at the division title today, but if I was a Dodgers fan I think I’d being feeling a lot better if Walker Buehler was available for the wild card game. Not like Scherzer is a worse option by any means, but I still think Buehler is their best present day starter.

Giants up 6-1 on the Padres. They aren’t messing around with the division title in the balance. EDIT: Now 7-1

For a reminder of how much things can change after a few days off, the Brewers lost 6 of 8 heading into the All Star Break this year, and then started off the second half of the season with a sweep on the road of a [at the time] red hot Reds team.

He gave up some hard contact, but it was a couple of successful innings from Gustave.

Giants up 2-0 in the 3rd inning on the Padres. Probably for the best if they don’t count on the Brewers for help today.

Muncy looks hurt really, really badly. Ouch.

Trent Grisham just made a [lightly] leaping catch at the wall to take away what might’ve been a home run for the Giants. Grisham was playing deep and it actually looked like a fairly easy play for him, so not quite as dramatic as your typical leaping catching at the wall.

Seemed like that Seager fly ball really fooled Garcia.

With a win today the Brewers would hold World Series home field advantage against every AL team except for the Rays. If the Brewers lose and the Astros win, then the Astros hold the tiebreaker for home field.

It was more like “managerial indecision” in the moment. Very glad to hear it isn’t injury related.

Missed it. How'd it take place? They didn’t have a pinch batter go out onto the field for a couple of minutes, and then the trainer was shown talking to Burnes in the dugout.

Hopefully just precautionary for Burnes, but a bit uneasy with the way that exit took place.

I think this series in LA might show folks why rooting for the Cardinals to beat the Dodgers isn’t the worst thing. The Brewers would have a significantly better chance at beating the Giants or Cardinals in a 7-game series than they would the Dodgers.

Burnes getting squeezed on a couple of pitches the past two batters isn’t helping things here.

He’s expected back tomorrow I believe. EDIT: I misread earlier, he is expected back by the NLDS. From Haudricourt two hours ago… Brewers president David Stearns said that barring physical setbacks, the expectation is that both first baseman Rowdy Tellez and reliever Jake Cousins will be ready to be on NLDS roster.

Watching Kershaw get pulled in the 2nd inning with something apparently wrong, followed by both Trea Turner and Corey Seager wincing in pain on separate occasions is a good reminder how important it is for the Brewers to get through this series healthy.
