  1. …and if not that one, then the next day! In all seriousness if they can win one game in this series then I’m pretty confident they’ll still clinch the division with more than a week to go in the season.
  2. Brewers would have Williams and Hader available for extra innings… so that’s a plus if they can get there.
  3. The one thing I will admit is incredibly annoying here is that aside from his appearances versus the Brewers this year, Jake Woodford has had very poor results.
  4. Yeah I think you’re right although I don’t have any stats to back it up. Just seems like the Brewers have a tough time stringing together a bunch of runs unless there are walks and errors involved. Hence, why they scored a bunch of runs in Cleveland for example (errors). Some part of that might be the ballpark they play in. According to Statcast since 2019 this is where Miller Park/AmFam Field ranks overall across MLB in the following hit type categories: Singles (24th) Doubles (25th) Triples (15th) Home Runs (10th)
  5. I don't know if people are aware of this or not, but professional sports team do create different "tiers" of rings. Players and top brass get the primo rings. And then the ring quality drops precipitously from there, all the way down to the ticket sellers. My cousin worked for the DBacks front office in 2001. He worked in media relations. He got a ring. It's pretty nice, but not even close to what the big-wigs got. I know another friend who worked in the ticket office. His ring is even more simplistic (think Green Bay Packers Super Bowl I ring.) I think it's great that teams do that. Are you referring to a different design altogether? I know they only do real diamonds and other gems for the players and top execs/owners, but I wasn’t aware they changed anything else with the ring. Even the rings without the real diamonds are a few hundred dollars apiece to purchase.
  6. This article mentions the possibility of Cohen targeting Stearns… New York Post: Steve Cohen’s testy tweeting isn’t only hurdle in critical Mets decision: Sherman
  7. I’m going to go on the record and predict Brewers “In Play, Run(s)” in the near future.
  8. Well they were below .500 as recently as August 9th, so I guess they’ve lost a few times as well.
  9. Having to throw 9 pitches to the first batter of the game isn’t ideal… especially if it ends in a walk.
  10. Bob Nightengale doing his best to put a stop to this Cardinals madness with this curse attempt… If there was ever a legitimate kryptonite-esque threat to devil magic, it’s the curse of Bob.
  11. Brandon Woodruff: Batter (Cardinals) vs Pitching Stats Jake Woodford: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats Statcast Game Preview for Cardinals-Brewers Statcast Game Feed for Cardinals-Brewers
  12. If they have a better offense than the Brewers, they haven’t shown it over the course of the season. The Cardinals rank 24th in MLB in runs scored per game (4.24), just behind the Royals and just ahead of the Dbacks, Orioles, Mets, Marlins, Rangers, and Pirates. The Brewers are 10th overall in runs scored per game (4.64) and 5th best in the NL. These Cardinals takes tonight feel like the epitome of recency bias. They’ve had a good stretch lately, but they’ve also had their share of struggles throughout the season. A few weeks ago the Braves were the hot team in the NL and everyone in the AL was saying “here come the Yankees.” Then their hot streaks ended and those teams went back to being something more closely resembling what they’ve been over the course of the season. I expect something similar from the Cardinals.
  13. Tonight sucked, but the Brewers will be just fine. They’ll clinch the division by no later than this weekend and be able to focus on getting ready for the playoffs.
