  1. And worse than that if you go back to the end of August. I wonder how many hits he’d have in that stretch if he just tried a bunt every at bat.
  2. JBJ seems so completely lost at the plate. I held out hope longer than most, but at this point putting him out there is pretty much just throwing away outs. I know they have no choice with the apparent Cain injury, but having him now stuck in the middle of the order certainly isn’t ideal.

  4. Just the 9th time in franchise history they’ve won 90+ games.
  5. Come on, have to go with a certain Packers QB…
  6. JBJ bookended the inning with strikeouts. That’s actually sort of impressive, but in a bad way.
  7. The 2021 Padres are within striking distance of the 2014 Brewers for largest winning percentage drop-off after a team’s first 81 games during the Wild Card era… FanGraphs: The Second-Half Slides That Have Crowded the Wild Card Races
  8. Adrian Houser: Batter (Cubs) vs Pitching Stats Zach Davies: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats Statcast Game Preview for Cubs-Brewers Statcast Game Feed for Cubs-Brewers
  9. The Cubs have to be setting some sort of record for blown 7-run leads this season. I believe this is at least their 3rd time being up 7 and losing (assume they don’t come back from this 15-8 deficit).
  10. And just like that it’s 7-7 by the 4th inning. You’ve got the reverse jinx mastered lately!
  11. The Reds have now lost 7 straight series dating back to their last series with the Brewers. That seems wild considering how soft their schedule appeared to be.
  12. Got it, I thought you were referring to what the players were wearing during the celebration after they clinched. In the case of the Giants it was the Fanatics gear, and I’d assume it’ll be the same for the Brewers. As far as the dugout apparel during the playoffs themselves, I think you’re correct that it’ll be the Nike stuff.
  13. The Braves would be an interesting matchup for the Brewers in that they only have one left handed starter (Max Fried), but they have 5 left handed bullpen arms. Having some right handed hitting options off the bench, such as Taylor, could prove helpful. On a different note, David Dahl is ineligible for the Postseason, correct? I know the rule is being on the 40-man before the end of August, but I wasn’t sure if the rules were any different for a player that had been on another team’s 40-man during the season. I’m guessing no, that he remains ineligible. Even if he could be eligible it would obviously take something unforeseen for him to have an opening, but who would’ve guessed Ryon Healy was going to have meaningful Postseason at bats last season.
  14. I did check out the Giants and Dodgers offerings, and I'm not to excited to spend 80 bucks on a sweatshirt. It seems like Nike does the same thing every season. I don’t think the official MLB Postseason apparel has anything to do with Nike. In fact this year it all carries the Fanatics logo, which is the first time I’ve noticed the Fanatics logo creep onto MLB apparel (actually two Fanatics logos if you look close enough). EDIT: I went back and looked at a past Brewers Postseason shirt (the “Respect Milwaukee” one) and it did have that smaller Fanatics logo with the MLB logo near the bottom, but didn’t carry the new larger one on the left chest of the shirt.
  15. Well it took 13 innings of baseball, but the Brewers have finally scored a run in Detroit.
  16. It’s a bit weird, but they also went 5-1 against the two best teams in the AL Central (Chicago and Cleveland), so I think you just shrug your shoulders and chalk it up to being baseball.
  17. Brandon Woodruff: Batter (Tigers) vs Pitching Stats Matt Manning: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats Statcast Game Preview for Tigers-Brewers Statcast Game Feed for Tigers-Brewers
  18. Wow, that was disappointing. Tigers strategy worked. Yelich hits a 3-1 pitch into a DP… man.
