  1. What are you talking about? The five 'veterans' on team I consider Counsell, Hariston, Hawkins, Saito, and Kotsay... Counsell plays once in a blue moon, Hariston has rarely played since Weeks came back, Hawkins was shunned out of the 8th spot while Loe was stinking in the first half, and Saito has only pitched 23 innings this year (4 innings in September). Kotsay is deserving of pinch-hit opportunities because he's been their best pinch hitter. Hardly 'love of veterans'. And considering McGehee a veteran is outlandish. I'm not sure how that applies to using 4 starters.
  2. like I said, he made a good play to even stop the ball. Not every throw is going to be perfect. That is certainly a catch most players in the league make. Goes both ways EVERY major league infielder should be able to make that play in the field. He made it harder by not charging it. A decent third baseman charges it and gets the short hop and it's an easy play. Weeks should have had it, but it was awful by McGehee and it has been all year. Would you have the same opinion if Weeks throws around the knees to Yuni, and Yuni dropped it?
  3. If weeks threw at Yuni's knee and he dropped one, I doubt you guys would be blaming Weeks for the low throw. Just calling it like I see it. Not a perfect throw, but that's one Weeks needs to catch.
  4. Prince had a pretty good pitch to hit, I don't think patience would do anything in that situation. The problem was he didn't send that thing in the seats, it was right down the pipe.
  5. There was only one replay that showed the slow start... he didn't read it very well, but he didn't break backwards. He paused a bit, but I'm not sure a perfect break would have allowed him to catch it. Offense looks terrible again. Bad approach. Bad situational hitting.
  6. In hindsight, it's easy to say that, but the book says bunting will most likely have better odds than getting a hit. Yo's average is .220, and I would like to think bunting has much better odds of advancing a runner. Easy to complain after the fact, but I agree with the call there with no outs and Corey Hart coming up with a sac fly/sac groundout opportunity. And even 0-2 I think the play is a bunt. Yo's a career .125 hitter after 0-2... stats that are common for pitchers.
  7. Question: Do the Brewers still have Lopez under contract? Could they technically put him back on the roster? Not saying they ever should, just curious. Edit: Swing away YO!
  8. Good question. He wasn't even in the camera frame although he clearly should have been at least somewhere in the neighborhood of the ball. I thought it looked foul. Inning over.I replayed it, it dove pretty quickly, I don't think he would have came close to that. Not a snowball's chance in hell he catches that over the head. It was barely fair. It hit the line. Had a good pause on the edge. Tough luck play, but Braun should have been behind the ball to stop it from hitting the tarp.
  9. Wouldn't mind seeing a Cardinal and Brewer win tonight since I'm going to the game tomorrow http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. Why does it seem like you are constantly trying to get people to berate Yuni? Leave him alone for 1 game.Yuni simply existing gets people to berate Yuni, regardless of how he does in the particular game. There's usually around 5-10 posts complaining about him before the game even starts, so I don't think it's all that unreasonable mentioning he played well when other people can't lay off him in a game where he actually does well.
  11. "Prince trying to hit that thing to West Allis" a foul ball? http://www.google.com/map...;mra=ls&t=h&z=15
  12. Game's not over yet. Let's string some hits together.
  13. No but just because he had a good game, doesn't mean he's not a terrible player. Over the course of a season, he will be one of, if not the worst player on whatever team he's on. Just curious: do you boo him when you're at games like Cubs fans boo Soriano? Cubs fans legitimately get furious when he gets a hit, and then they get furious when he gets an out. Other than select Cubs fans I've never heard someone hate a player that plays for their own team so much. I'm wondering what you thought of Bill Hall... I couldn't stand him, but you must have lost your mind!
  14. Can't blame this one on Yuni. Eh, I'm sure somebody will anyways.
  15. 89 mph fastball right down the middle? Great.
  16. This might be the worst I've seen this offense. This guy pitching is terrible, he's missing his spots and hanging breaking-balls left and right. The pitch to green was literally right down the middle. It's embarrassing. Two hits through 5 against this guy? Unacceptable.
  17. If we can't hit pitches literally STRAIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE then we aren't going to be able to score runs against teams with pitchers that are pitching well. And I'm not sure how Corey Hart struck out on a pitch that much down the pipe. I paused it and it literally was direct center, 6 inches above the knee with no movement. I felt sick. Edit: well, I guess you can't blame Yuni for this game
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQzvX6Hsuas I love the absolute adrenaline after the hit and the F*** YEAH!!!! at the end. Recorded on my phone http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
