  1. When Morgan got kicked out he said 'he said it first, so he should be kicked out too'. I wouldn't be surprised if Morgan was just trying to fight for the sake of trying to get Carpenter out of the game. Unless he gets suspended, it doesn't really matter. What's the negative? His reputation goes down?
  2. It's actually not all that dumb. Morgan's done for the game anyways, so why not rile up the pitcher that has been on fire all game. Maybe you get a chance to get him kicked out as well?
  3. I think every player in the MLB goes into prolonged hot-streaks and slumps. Not many people start the first month batting .285, then the All Star Break are .285, come trade deadline are .285, then with a week to go are still .285. Okay guys, we got them right where we want them. Being behind the Cardinals late is essentially a guaranteed win http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. Every time we play the Cardinals it seems like the same thing. Lots of good hit balls that go for outs, and a lot of close plays going the Cardinals way. It's been opposite how Brewers have been winning games this year. Kind of a dose of our own medicine. (That strikeout looks like the regular Furcal this year. That was ugly.)
  5. Does it seem like Cardinals players will always run to first base on a full count, regardless of pitch location? It was a good pitch, but come on, guys look like idiots running to first while getting rung up. Carpenter flew through the Brewers first time around. Facing the minimum.
  6. He's hitting the corners. Dangerous. Green's was a strike on the outside corner, ball moved quick to get the ball straight in the dirt. Fielder had a nice piece of hitting there.
  7. Game over. Cardinals can't close games! Edit: Oh Geeze, we actually do have a shot.
  8. No, I'm ripping completely ridiculous posts that come out of emotion rather than common sense. McGehee walked his first AB. I don't think his approach is to hit early in the count because of who is hitting behind him. I think McGehee would be used to Yuni hitting behind him by now and would be a walk machine if that was actually that approach. In here it just seems like a travesty whenever a player like Yuni doesn't go 4-4. Every single at-bat gets 5-6 of the same post explaining that he's a terrible hitter. We know. Yet when he actually does do something good it's 5-6 of the same posts explaining he's still a terrible hitter or fielder. I've never seen anyone acknowledge he's made a good play defensively. He's had a handful tonight and has shown some range. When a Cubs announcer said he had decent range there were 5-6 people who laughed at the notion. Yet just last week Uecker was talking about Furcal's range and said Yuni also had decent range at SS. When he gets a good hit it's somehow still a bad thing. How depressing must it be to watch this team. 1/3 of your position players will make you angry regardless of the outcome. I can't even imagine some of you people watching the team when Bill Hall was playing. I generally like reading the in-game threads here, but literally the majority of the posts involve complaining about two players. It gets really old. These are some pretty emotional statistics: http://espn.go.com/mlb/st...t/113/sort/OPS/minpa/175 http://espn.go.com/mlb/st...OPS/order/true/minpa/150 http://espn.go.com/mlb/st...tion/ss/sort/rangeFactor http://espn.go.com/mlb/st...t/zoneRating/order/false (on a team who intends on making a playoff run) Stop being so emotional, statistics! And the guy from the minors who was suggested to replace them HAS appeared MUCH better. These stats have nothing to do with your original statement.
  9. And if I ripped on McGehee you'd have also rushed to his defense. No, I'm ripping completely ridiculous posts that come out of emotion rather than common sense. McGehee walked his first AB. 10. Yuni now getting blamed for other batters not producing hits.
  11. That half inning was literally under 3 minutes. Corey Hart has some goofy looking catches. He always has that half-grin on his face afterwards too, knowing it wasn't all that routine. Full inning: 7 minutes total including the break.
  12. Fielder looked like he dove right over that ball. Rewound it, it went under his glove. He got a late break to it.
  13. Here comes 35 posts in a row saying the same thing.
  14. Some short term stats Taylor Green starts his career with impressive numbers: 6-12 with 3 doubles. Feeling the pressure? Casey is 5-24 since his first inning home-run vs his old team. Braun has been an RBI machine. 10 RBI's in the last 10 games with a 1.15OPS. Since going 4-4 against Houston, Prince is 1 for his past 12 with 3 strikeouts. Corey Hart has slowed up a bit. Last three games he's 3 for 15 with 6 strikeouts. Since the bunt debacle Yuni is 7 for his last 18 in 5 games. Lucroy is 2 for his last 25. Both hits? Solo home runs. Since his streak, Counsell is .296/.429/.836 with 4 RBI's. The good: Hariston has had an impressive .341 OBP since joining the team and .400 in last 25 AB. The bad: he's driven in just 4 runs and his OPS is .681. By the way: Go Brewers! Get it to single digits tonight!
  15. Everyone is jinxing the lineup! Saturday night everyone complained about how terrible the lineup was (and that RR was an idiot) and 8 runs were put up. Hope the opposite doesn't happen. But yes, this line-up makes a lot of sense. I think switching things up seems to spur some hitting.
  16. I saw this lineup and saw Kotaras and liked it. Lucroy hasn't been the greatest lately, and giving him some rest is great down the stretch.
  17. Not that I've ever made a comment about Yuni getting injured, but I find it silly that all of a sudden nobody can say anything negative about him now without such warnings as shown above. Well he's also 2-2 with a triple since then, so that might be another reason there hasn't been as much negativity.
  18. White flag? He's our middle reliever. I'm not sure who else pitches in this situation.
  19. Who? Why? Fielder's job is to back up the cut-off man, which he did. Are you trying to say he should have been lazily and stay at first? http://www.qcbaseball.com/images/situations/first_double_rightcenter.gif condescend much? I am aware of how baseball works but thanks for the diagram. There were 2 Cardinals standing at 2nd when the ball went to the plate. Prince needs to get over there instead of standing around watching. Either he's 'standing around watching', or he's focused on the throw and being in position. This isn't a video game. He can't see everything that's going on, and thinking about covering first is the LAST thing on his mind. If he was standing around watching I think he would have a better shot of getting him out. It was a freak play and the Brewers were lucky to not have a run come home there. The real goat is Wolf who hit two batters and gave up a home run to the pitcher.
  20. I wouldn't be surprised if around 10 people reading this were legitimately angry that Yuni hit a triple and scored a run.
  21. It was terrible base running that should have been two runs. Can definitely blame Wolf for getting in that situation. And solo shot? The bases were loaded? In no situation could a solo shot have happened. didn't say anything about solo shots. someone should have been covering first.Who? Why? Fielder's job is to back up the cut-off man, which he did. Are you trying to say he should have been lazily and stay at first? http://www.qcbaseball.com/images/situations/first_double_rightcenter.gif
