  1. why do i have the feeling that this is a "come back to earth" type of game for Yo.
  2. if he refuses the assignment he forfeits his contract, i know he wants out bad, but to give up the remaining 3.2 mil is alittle hard to do, especially for someone that may not see that amount again in his career.
  3. I also stopped at best buy for a non related reason while working today around lunch time and there were about 20 people line buying the game, ages ranged teen to upper 20's low 30's guys in suits. The turn around is about a week from sending back to getting a game back. I am on the 3 game plan so i send back 1 or 2 at a time but always have one so i have something to play. I still buy games like MLB and NCAA because i know i will keep them, even if you want the lowest plan its worth it to get games that you would want to play but want to buy or be restricted by renting.
  4. I am by no means offended because i dont have a high paying job(Hvac designer/Cad/Estimating), my wife has a slightly above average paying job. What helped was that for the first couple years of owning the house both of our cars were payed off, while on the decline we milked them. For 7 of the 8 years we lived in the house we didnt have a kid which helped. I hope it didnt come off as bragging, just excited to be able to say it. Dont worry thought i will be right back in the pool with the rest of you in Oct when i get a new car. To be honest i would probably buy a ton of stuff right now, (Car, surround system, random toys) if my wife wasnt s fiscally smart, total buzzkill.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  5. I had three cars all through high school that i paid $400, $300 and $800 for. 1982 Nissa Stanza with 185,000 miles on it. It was Silver and lasted 1-1/2 years 1979 Malibu Classic - Didnt go in reverse when tranny was hot, cloth on the ceiling sagged and had to be held up with push pins, lasted 9 months 1982 Pontiac Firebird - Rust on all the fenders, dent in one, remade crappy tranny, but had t-tops and was fun. Sold a 2 years later. (All Cars pictured are not mine and are in much better shape then the ones I had.) http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/f4625429b08304f146adfa9b045399fe4e0cd64.jpg http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/95a35d199fa0846348b04fa1df73fcedfdb1bb4.jpghttp://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/f2d35fe392b183324a504c81dac5a2807835e98.jpg
  6. depends on the BPF and Flex rate of your softball bat, if you get high enough in both you will get a nice smooth strike with less vibration and more power in the sweet spot and longer life of the bat. With the way wood bats are made now a days and the randomness of getting grained bats or not you run the risk of it breaking early in the fight. I highly suggest going out and getting your self a nice Demarini or Worth softball bat just in case of attack.
  7. It was a personal loan if i remember correctly, not a home loan. It was 8 years ago when they were more willing to work with people, plus my wife worked at that bank, her parents keep the companies accounts there and we all bank there and know the owner personally, so we were able to get a pretty good rate.
  8. I subscribe to GameFly, and i sent back a few games last week to ensure that i would be getting my copy of GTA4 this week. Speaking of Gamefly, best this going, i pay 25 a month and have had it for about 4 months now and have gone through about 15 games. Doing the math 15x60=$900 vs $100. Best thing is that i am more willing to try games that i would have normally avoided.
  9. my first car was a 1982 Nissan Stanza that cost me $400. I owned three vehicles while in high school, the Stanza, 79' Malibu Classic and 1982 Trans Am. All three vehicles combined cost me less then $2000. It is a right of passage to have to drive a P.O.C. car. The glue that held the lining on the roof of the Malibu gave way so the cloth hung down and we had to use push pins to keep it up, plus when the tranny was warm it didnt go in reverse. It really makes you appreciate having a new vehicle after driving those types of cars.
  10. If it is a Paslode butane(sp) nail gun then you will be long dead before that things fires properly, especially when you have to push the plunger down the get it going the press it down again to fire. Having been a carpenter for 8 years they were pretty much worthless unless you were doing to some work in areas that you couldnt get a hose to. Is it a trim gun or framing? Plus the nail wouldnt do that much damagehttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif Now a nice 24 oz framing hammer with a straight claw, that will inflict some damage.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/devil.gif
  11. My wifes parents opened a Roth with they're investor when she was born or at some point and have been putting money in there till she was older and then my wife took it over and it is pretty well funded at this point. As for me i am going to start one with the same but i have two problems, bad time to start investing right now and he doesnt take any accounts without starting with 20,000, but he was going to make an exception with me and start with 10,000 due to her and her parents buisness with him. So i am going to start saving for that and a newer car. For the house, we had a friend build it, bricked it ourselves(her parents own a masonry company) and kinda went cheap on fixture and couters and used appliances etc. We went with a 5 yr fixed and refiannced again when the 5 yrs was up which thankfully was when the rate was around 4.5 or close to that where able to pay off the rest in 3 years.
  12. i own a few, the nail tumbles within about 6" of leaving the gun if fired into the air, so you are out of luck there. Secondly are you going to carry a air tank with you? And finally having shot my self twice with a 3-1/4" clipped nail twice, there just isnt enough damage to take down a zombie. When it comes to weapons, who cares who the bat is signed for, this is your life you are talking about. Me on the other hand have 3 swords(got them when i was young and thought they were cool) so i have that going for me.
  13. why is it always the coaches fault, he isnt the one up there swinging the bat. All of these guys have hit in order to get where they are, and most had Skaalan coming up through the minors, he isnt any different so where does that leave them?
  14. In all fairness it is all due to my wife, she is the more fiscally responsible person in the relationship, if it wasnt for her i would have alot more toys then i do now.
  15. Me and my wife just payed double our house payments each month and payed more each time for our cars. Its amazing how much faster your loans go away when you pay more. With that said, we dont really go out often or on vacation(due to her being a part owner of a construction company there is no time for vacations) so we just put all our money into paying off debt. Like i said my car has close to 100,000 miles on it and would like to get something newer before everything goes on it and we most likely will be moving in 4-5 years for a bigger home. With that said anyone interested in a 4 bed, 3 bath, all brick home let me know. ZZZ, i would not be married anymore if i bough another bat, having 5 already is enough, golf clubs on the other hand, she doesnt need to know about that.
  16. House - Made last payment in Oct. Cars - Both are now payed off School Loan- check Credit Card - check It is the best feeling knowing that at 30 i am have no major loans hanging over our heads. With that said though i will need to be getting a newer car in a year or so, so i will be jumping right back into the pool. But with that said it feels great today.
  17. i know all are going to hate this, but up to today McClung had pitched pretty good, in fact i had more faith in him then i did Turnbow and for that matter Riske as of late. McClung is closer to a MLB pitcher then Turnbow is by far.
  18. The reason that it is a big deal is two fold, one he admits to breaking the law and two he admits to breaking league rules. Neither the police will be able to charge him or punish him but now he has brought alot more supervision apon him. As for calling out other players, since he didnt name anyone else he should be fine here. These are the times when i enjoy Steven A., when he is calm and presents a good and well thought out opinion and not yelling and screaming. When he does this he can have very intelligent dialoges.
  19. For straight chuck-n-duck we would have a girl pitching, if you could go unlimited for the men then i would pitch. **to answer zzman, having been a 1st basemen since i was 10 i developed the ability to do the splits the hard way, tear all the muscles and have them grow back(thats how you get flexibility) and the use of stretching machines in college(coaches orders) and was one of the things that my wife says was one of the things that attracted her to me, sucks for her i guess.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif**
  20. my wife plays 3rd for our team, she has a better arm(acurate) then i do, which is why i have played 1st for the last 20 years of baseball and softball, but then again i can do the splits and she can't. She also is a dead pull hitter. I agree that 3rd, 2nd. We also put them in the gap so that the other fielders can cover her.
  21. or down and away, or just down or fastball up high, outside and inside. So basically dont pitch it right down the middle and you got yourself 3-4 SOshttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. having played 1st base for 20 years i can tell you that the shorter hops are easier to pick the farther ones due to the time in the air off the bounce there is more chance for the spin on the ball to effect the flight. I know it doesnt seem like it would be harder but it is. Also when you are catching a ball, especially a DP you start your stretch getting ready to receive and the bounce throws off the rhythm making it awkward to catch.
  23. everytime you hear the CBS basketball music just think the lines "Lets get ready for basketball...", you will never stop singing it.
  24. They changed the rule this year to be like horse racing, where everyones car and driver have to weight the same. She kicked and screamed about this because she admitted that it gave her a huge advantage, which of course did her no good before.
  25. well this may solve the "who are we going to get rid of?" question
