  1. While we always seem to remember when he does it, Estrada has only swung at the first pitch 30 times out of 124 AB's this year. That does NOT mean he takes a lot of pitches as he has yet to have a 3-0 count or a 3-1 count and only 2 full counts. So while he swings early in the atbat, it's only been the first pitch 30 times out of 124.
  2. I've stated several times I'm not a huge ben sheets fan, but I wouldn't expct you to remember everything that every poster says. Facts are facts though. he's been a great pitcher since 2001.
  3. He had a couple of bad starts back to back, after opening day. Without those 2 starts, his ERA is 2.50 on the season. He has a 3.00 ERA in his last 5 starts.
  4. I just don't understand why there is a "missing person's" sign posted in the thread as though Ben Sheets has been AWOL all year, when in reality, aside from the 2 starts after opening day he has been great. I don't really care how 'dominating' he appears. I just care about results. I would like to see more strikeouts though, which would really put his stamp on being the team Ace.
  5. Not sure I agree with taking a struggling Billy Hall and putting him in the 3 hole.
  6. Agreed. If he gets those back up to what we are used to we are looking at a Cy Young Contender.
  7. May 12th @ NYM 12-3 W 6 innings 3 ER May 6th PIT 6-4 W 6 innings 2 ER May 1 STL 12-2 W 6 innings 2 ER April 25 @ CHC 9-3 L 3 innings 0 ER April 20 HOU 6-5 L 7 innings 2 ER You do realize he hasn't been "missing". Right? He's been dominating every since the 2 games after Opening Day (when he was also dominating.) I swear people expect him to throw a CG SHO every single game because he is an ACE. You do realize that there have only been 26 Complete Games in all of baseball this year and Sheets has one of them. Yo do realize there have only been 7 Shutouts in all of baseball this year. Going 6 or 7 innings and giving up 2 ER's or less is being an ace.
  8. Here we go. After a night of rest..I am all ready for the game today!!! Hopefully Sheets continues to pitch well and the bats get going a little bit for a convincing win heading home.
  9. Maybe they should put the tarp back on. that was filthy from Hamels.
  10. . Ueck more or less said "We will have a game tonight...just stay tuned for the start time."
  11. Awesome. This rain delay gives every one a good excuse to vote for JJ and Prince in the All-Star game until the game starts. That's what I'll be doing.
  12. Gross makes me wish you could swear on BF.net with his approach at the plate. Bleh.
  13. I wish gross was playing instead of gwynn and his toothpick bat. I mean it is so cut and dry that gross is beter.
  14. Gwynn is hitting .394, with a .474 OBP and a .959 OPS Gross is hitting .171 with a .348 OBP and a .662 OPS Why exactly should Gross be playing? That stellar defense he showed last week that cost the Brewers a run? Just because you don't like Gwynn does not mean he shouldn't play. The guy is hitting darn near .400 and gets on base nearly half the time he comes to the plate.
  15. Come on!! Counsell had a SCORCHING double last night and then used his blazing speed to try to steal 3rd. Oh wait..that was a little flair that just stayed fair and then he was thrown out at 3rd by a mile trying to steal with nobody out and the top of the order up?? I must have forgotten. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Counsell and Graffy have done well defensively and have had moments at the plate. They are what they are. Solid veterans to play a good 3B, try to move runners and provide the occasional bit hit...oh and keep the position warm until Braun is ready.
  16. Eh. This site just puts me in a bad mood after games like that. I'm off to bed. To dream about tomorrow's game.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. Here's to a Big win for the Crew tomorrow as they beat up on Adam Eaton. Let's raise that 7.43 ERA tomorrow. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. This from the SAME group of people who COMPLAIN when Turnbow and Cordero pitch in a game with a 4 run lead because ANYBODY can hold 4 run lead. 4 runs leads are times to pitch Spurling and Dessens. It's all there for you in writing...just go back to the IGT's and look. You can't have it both ways!!!!!!!!!
  19. This whole in-game thread is completely hilarious. It's why I try to avoid BF.net after a tough loss. It's baseball. It's 162 games. The team you follow will win games. They will lose games. Some of them will be easy to take. (yesterday). Some will be gut-wrenching (today.) All that matters is that the team knows it's not a big deal. It's just one game in many. It happens. The best thing for fans to do is click on Woogie's IGT for tomorrow. And smile. Because the Crew will get this thing righted tomorrow. The nice thing about the team this year is they won't lose more than 2 or three in a row because the Starting Pitchers will keep them in every single game. Tonight saw a lot of positive things that lead me to believe the team is still headed in the right direction and is for real. Another solid outing by bush. I nice job by Wise. The bats stayed hot. Billy Hall seems to be taking the ball the other way. Weeks with a couple hits. Hardy another homer. Estrada staye hot. So Shouse and T-Bow didn't get it done tonight...bid flippin deal. The Cubs lost too. The Crew still has the best record in the league and lead their division by 7 games. Deep Breaths Brewers nation. The sun will come up tomorrow.
  20. The biggest mistake of the night by Yost was to yank Bush so early and require so many innings out of the bullpen. Bush was cruising along. He'd only allowed 4 hits. By using Wise in the 6th inning.....it threw everything off by an inning.
  21. For the 25-13 start to the season? Or what? I'm confused?
  22. How do you figure out the good Dave Bush vs Bad Dave Bush Schedule?? Because since his first start his had 5 out of 6 very solid starts..... May. 8 WAS W 6-4 6.2 innings 3 earned runs (good) May. 3 PIT L 4-2 7.0 innings 4 earned runs (good) Apr. 28 @HOU L 10-1 5.1 innings 7 earned runs (Bad) Apr. 22 HOU W 4-3 8.0 innings 3 earned runs (good) Apr. 17 @CIN L 11-5 5.0 innings 4 earned runs (good) Apr. 11 @FLA W 5-2 6.0 innings 1 earned run (great) Apr. 6 CHC L 9-3 6.0 innings 6 earned runs (Bad) If you take a quality start as 6 innings and 3 runs or fewer (assuming the offense scored more than 3 and Wise/Turnbow/and Cordero close it down) for the Brewers starting pitchers.....then Bush has.... 3 Quality starts and one start where he gave up 4 ERs instead of 3 in 7 innings. So that's 4 very good outings out of his last 6. So back to my question.....you say "Bad Dave Bush is scheduled to show up tomorrow"....his trend has been.... Bad (1st start) Good Good Good Bad Good Good (last start) So what's you're schedule or pattern that you see?? There really isn't one. You have no substantiated evidence other than your gut tells you that he pitches bad a lot instead of actually looking at the game log and realizing that the guy has pitched well in 5 out of his 7 starts and 5 out of his last 6. I say 4-1 win for the Crew tonight.
  23. Great game!! Very exciting time to be a crew fan.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Cappy sure is a winner. He really knows how to make sure the bullpen can get out of it with a 3 run lead and 2 guys on base. If only Sheets could figure out how to get his bullpen to get out of it with 2 men on and a 2 run lead...he'd be a winner too.
