  1. I will be happy too if we have the starter keep us in the game and also get some good offense and defense. That would be considered playing the complete game. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif It would be nice to salvage a game out of this series. They haven't really played too poorly. Just 2 bad innings have kind of done them in. As soon as anyone knows if Weeks/Hall is playing let me know as I have both in fantasy and currently have Hall on my bench and Weeks at 2nd, but I have a gut feeling Billy will be in there somewhere.
  2. Capallen was 6 up and 6 down tonight, which could be huge as this season plays along. Also we get big Ben back on Sunday. Also we are 5-3.
  3. So that's what it feels like to get guys on base and make the pitcher pay!??!?! CARLOS-ME!
  4. Alright. JJ and Geoff on. Absolutely have to get runs here. No way can they win games against St. Louis when they get the leadoff guys on for Lee-Koskie-Weeks-Fielder. Have to get at least 2. Preferbly about 4 or 5. haha. P.S. Does anyone have a severe man crush on JJ?
  5. I just don't think you need to start benching people, giving them days off, etc....7 games into the season. Hall has started 3 games out of 8. Ideally as the year wears on it will be closer to 5 out of 8. I'd be surprised if he doesn't give one of the kids tomorrow off (Hardy or Weeks) with a day game after a night game. Hall will get plenty of at-bats. Don't worry about the first 8 games. It's a long season. With a day off yesterday, playing Hall instead of ANYONE sends a message that they are being "benched" because they just had their "day off".
  6. I'm not trying to sound like a jerk here, but this isn't Little League or a video game. Teams don't just score 8 runs in 3 innings in the major leagues more than a few times a year. Some teams will go a whole year without doing it. I agree it would be nice, but I don't think it's a very realistic goal for the night. I'd be happy scoring 5 or 6 runs for the game and getting a win.
  7. Um no. Not really. Pitchers are 3 for 17 this year against the Brewers. Pitchers not named Mulder are 1 for 14. Hardly "offensive production."
  8. . I agree he should be starting 4-5 games/week, but in fairness to Ned, Arizona threw some Righties and Billy was coming off an 0-7 Pittsburgh series. It's not like he went into the Arizona series sizzling.
  9. Anyone that realistically thought the Crew would go in and beat Mark Mulder in the opening of the new Busch Stadium with Tomo Ohka on the hill had to be dillusional. It would have been a great game to steal, but nobody coudl have expected a win. I do expect wins Wed. and Thurs. I also think a sweep of the Mets this weekend is possible. let's see if Rickie and Prince can give us a lil life and make them bring in Izzy to face Miller and Gross.
  10. Yawn. Come back and post again in June when they are both raking. You were probably the same guy who gave up on JJ Hardy last April. Young players take a little time to "get it". They will "get it." They are too talented not to. This is a 90 win baseball team. 2 losses does not change that. The pitching is going to carry us and we will get enough timely hits to win more games than we lose.
  11. The same Isringhausen who gave up a grand salami to Michael Barrett yesterday? We can score on him. He's not unhittable.
  12. Good rip Geoff! This is our inning. Guy on for Carlos, Billy, Rickie, Prince. Get Rick some runs!
  13. I think Helling comes in and slams the door for the next 2 innings and we creep back into it and get to Kolb, Wise, T-Bow for a 5-4 win. Here's to being right. Come on Crew.
  14. Absolutely he's a major leaguer. I even said he'll be GREAT. I love Corey Hart. I just don't believe in "playing him just to play him". If someone needs a day off (they dont yet) or is stuggling (it's too early to know) then he will be a great 4th outfielder. When he is called upon (which will probably be quite frequently in the next stretch of games (after tomorrow i beleive we have 15 games in 15 days)....he will do a great job I'm sure!
  15. Stevo, I understand your complaint. I love Corey Hart too. I think he's going to be a good...actually great major league player. I just don't think he is one of our top guys right now (that's a good thing as noted above because of the depth). I feel like Ned would be cheating the team to go into St. Louis with a chance to make a statement coming off a 5-1 homestand and sit Lee, Jenkins, or Clark. Corey's time will come. Until then..enjoy the success that the current lineup is having.
  16. Zero. Zilch. None. We are 5-1 with the lineup we've been using. There is no reason to change it. Especially with an off-day tomorrow. Nobody needs a rest. Don't start him just to start him. Having said all that...He'll probably start just because then I'll be wrong. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. Not sure I agree with this. He was pretty consistent last year. 9 innings, 0 ER's 7.2 innings 4 ER's 5 innings 5 ER's 5.1 innings 4 ER's 6 innings 2 ER's 7 innings 3 ER's 6 innings 7 ER's 7 innings 1 ER 4.2 innings 4 ER's 8 innings 0 ER's 6.1 innings 3 ER's 6 innings 2 ER's 6 innings 4 ER's 6 innings 5 ER's 7 innings 1 ER 3 innings 3 ER's 7 innings 2 ER's 6 innings 2 ER's 7.1 innings 5 ER's Those are his 19 starts with the Brewers. So he lasted at least 6 innings in 15 of his 19 starts. He also gave up less than 5 runs in 15 of his 19 starts. If you can get 6 innings and FEWER than 5 runs out of your #5 pitcher you are going to win a lot of games. I totally disagree with those who say he is going to flame out this year. Nothing in his track record has shown that he won't continue to be consistent.
  18. To make the post-season, the kids (Fielder and Weeks) will have to get a lot better defensively as the year progresses. Luckily, I think they can and will.
  19. AWESOME play by Damian!!!! That's gotta help Weeks' confidence, knowing that his miscue didn't hurt.
  20. It only took Brady 10 innings to get his first caught stealing. ugh.
  21. Nevermind. I had the lineups posted here, but a second late. Go Brewers!
