  1. Lame and a sham. Man is baseball pissing me off lately.
  2. Beast Light, I know what you are saying. I'm sure there are plenty of fans left that think he will still turn it around and be an effective closer this year. That's who I was referring to. You seem to have gotten it, there is no tread left on those tires.
  3. I am beginning to fear that he may be done. I'm not sure how many times people need to see him pitch to come to this conclusion, but at least you are now leaning on the right side of the fence.
  4. As opposed to BA, who sounds good at first, and then after a while you realize he doesn't know the game and he's terrible.
  5. Had to celebrate #2700 with style http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  6. Other than Macha making a slight change to his nap schedule (combining his late morning and early afternoon nap into one super-nap), I don't see any changes until its too late. Who really cares anyway. We have a 40+ year old closer who can't get three outs without giving up damage, a 37 year-old setup guy that lost his best pitch, one good starter, one reliable starter, a 1B who thinks he's worth $200M while OPSing under .750 and playing awful defense, a 40+ year-old center fielder, the best player took a 96mph heater on his elbow and nothing was even remotely done about it, a hitting coach who thinks a good game plan is to make the opposing pitcher get his pitches up and hit them as hard as you can (LOL), and on and on... I just don't care much anymore. Where's the vent thread. This isn't 2009, bring back the vent thread!
  7. I am starting to feel this way more times than not with this team. Even when they win 17-3, I don't really care much about the game. Yay, they scored a lot of runs, woohoo. Apathy toward the Brewers may be unavoidable for me this year. I need a nap, badly. So... very... sleepy... [snoring noise].
  8. There really is no "if" about missing Halladay. He is pitching today. He will not be pitching on Sunday.
  9. Doug Davis, Jeff Suppan, Trevor Hoffman, LaTroy Hawkins... all older pitchers who projected much better than what they have shown so far in 2010. I am getting ready to be perfectly content with saying that projecting pitchers 34 years old or older is a crap shoot.
  10. Assuming that Davis finishes with an ERA of around 5.00 over 190 innings Depending on what "around 5.00" means, I would take that bet. He's the 2010 Brewer's version of Braden Looper, only more expensive.
  11. Hoffman did not blow a bunch of games because he wasn't properly inspired. One thing is for sure, I'm not inspired. Actually, I'm rather bushed and may miss the first half of these games due to my need for a nap. To add to the topic, I will now officially be demoralized on game day when Doug Davis is scheduled to pitch.
  12. Well, you can't fault Hanson for trying to pitch inside to Braun. Nope, just like I won't fault Dave Bush for using the the whole plate tonight.
  13. I'm done counting on Rogers for anything at the big-league level. What we need is for Jeremy Jeffress to come back from his suspension on a mission. The motivation should be there... make the bigs and smoke all the ganja your heart desires.
  14. I think it was an intentional brush back pitch that got away a bit. He might not have intended to hit him, but the probability of a HBP goes up when you come inside like that.
  15. Davis walked SIX! Granted one was intentional, but this is what I remember of Doug Davis the first go around. I have a hard time blaming the defense when Davis is on the mound. He works excruciatingly slow and walks an unacceptable amount of batters. Didn't he walk McClouth on four pitches to start the 5th inning (who eventually scored)? That cannot happen. And prior to that inning, Davis was hit hard on several occasions, but they just happened to be right at a fielder. I find it very hard to visualize Doug Davis pitching for a playoff caliber team, much less actually pitching in the playoffs. Manny Parra should be taking his spot in the rotation. Or, sadly, I would rather see Suppan starting over Doug Davis. I was in attendance tonight, it was a boring crowd I believe a big reason why was who was pitching for the Brewers. Nobody takes the crowd out of a game better than Doug Davis. I was there for his outing against the Cubs, and it was the same way for Brewer fans. We were bored and disinterested in 30+ second delays in between pitches. It would be tolerable if he was actually good, but he's not.
  16. Not that it mattered much with Hanson dealing, but Doug Davis is not going to cut it if this teams wishes to contend. He's pretty painful to watch pitch.
  17. Perfect game, because its perfect. Can't get any better than that.
  18. Although its at home, I'm gonna say it... I'm excited for Brewer baseball tonight!
  19. I would take Ken Harrelson and Steve Stone over Rock/BA in a heartbeat. John Sterling is radio, so its sort of a different animal. But unless you are a Yankee die-hard homer that loves anything Yankee no matter what, I don't see how anyone can stand John Sterling's home run calls. They are so bad, I could care less how quality his other announcing is. I automatically rate him as terrible.
  20. having humorous Brewers broadcasters is very important to me. How is Anderson funny?
  21. "people who don't care about a completely benign word choice" audience. Exactly. One could even add... "people who don't care about word choice, but would rip the same announcer if working for any other team."
  22. This is awesome, even though it doesn't relate at all to this team.I could have sworn there was a player named Ramathorn and a manager named Rodney on this team somewhere. But really, I would vote for Team Zim-Zam.
  23. Until the guy gets in the batter's box, he "would" be next. I guess I can now see why BA has fans.
