  1. I thought Volquez was considered out for at least the first half of this year anyway. It will cost him money, but ultimately will not cost the Reds anything.
  2. Wow, not good for the Red Sox. I predict within the next 4-6 weeks, Sox fans will have had their fill of Billy Hall.
  3. Wow. That's not good. What's with the news today. I should just shut down until game time.
  4. LaTroy Hawkins? Come on, you knew someone was going to ask.
  5. I am ready to DFA the next pitcher that gives up 4 or more runs in an inning where they walked at least one batter. Can someone keep the Pirates under 6? PLEASE?!?
  6. He's a lame duck, and if they struggle to the All-Star break he will likely be replaced by Randolph or Sveum. That said, this tread is doomed.
  7. I don't like hearing people say he should hang it up. I agree, that's a bit premature.
  8. We'll see I guess. Suppan has the Pirates twice in a row now.
  9. As will I, but I don't pretend the slips don't happen. I don't think its out of bounds to discuss this. As for Santo, he doesn't do the play-by-play, they pay him for his sound bytes. Brewcrew, I think Powell has found his permanent home.
  10. If we really want the Brewers to contend this year, we all need to raise our expectation of adequacy. For me Suppan pitched better than I thought he would yesterday, yet he still gave up 4 ERs in 5 IP. Its not good when a fanbase is thinking this way. It means our expectations are rock bottom.
  11. I LOVE Uecker, but yesterday he had me convinced for a second that I didn't know how many outs there were. Unfortunately I did know, and that run did not score. Also, he almost had me convinced the Brewers did not score that 4th run for a bit.
  12. Again, if anyone is interested, I am looking to go large that Suppan does not finish the season with an ERA under 5.25. The Cubs went easy on him today. If most people are expecting a 4.75-5.25 ERA range, I should be able to find some takers for this, right?
  13. If 4 runs in 5 innings is a good job, I would hate to see what a bad job would have looked like. Sad our expectations of Suppan were so low that his outing today is considered good. That includes you Doug Melvin. I'm glad they won, but it doesn't do much for the problem, and that is Jeff Suppan.
  14. Ken Macha is really doing a great job of making my afternoon suck. Well done Ken.
  15. I think I hear Macha snoring though the radio broadcast.
  16. Yeah, Uecker is rambling about whether Z will come out for another inning. He's at 121 pitches Bob, there is a 0% chance Z comes out for the 6th inning.
  17. Someone wake Macha up! He should be elated that Suppan got him to the 5th with a tied ballgame. He's playing with fire. SO, how many runs does Macha let Suppan give up in the 5th?
  18. 9.00 ERA. That sounds about right for Suppan this year. I hope Macha has enough sense to get him out of the game now.
  19. Um yeah, he hit it about 450 feet. Aw that's not legit, the wind helped it that last 70 feet.
  20. Guess I was a few minutes off on that prediction. I didn't see the HR, was it legit?
  21. So, how long until Suppan gives the lead back? I'll go with 10-15 minutes.
  22. Very close, but that one definitely wouldn't have been legit. Another 1 run inning for Suppan. I will take that every time.
