  1. why why why why BA, take it back before its too late!
  2. 0-6 with 6 strikeouts for the Brewers 1-3 hitters. What's the word for worse than horrible?
  3. He's great in the clubhouse. He sells wild, crazy pants.
  4. I feel like Zaun would have to be this bad for like 2 months before anyone cared, considering who is replacing. Check out Kendall so far this year, it will incite a bit of rage. Not like any more rage is necessary right now.
  5. Gregg Zaun could very well turn out to be the greatest rally killer in the history of the Brewer franchise. He is off to a monstrous start.
  6. Only one strikeout for Bush, but more importantly only 7 pitches thrown.
  7. Lovely start. Did anyone get their bat on the ball?
  8. The Brewers can definitely compete and be just as good without Fielder. The Mariners won 116 games the year after A-Rod exited. Prince and Boras have turned him into a star, and stars are way overpaid for the value they bring onto the field in terms of wins and losses. This is because stars bring home the bacon with the casual fans, and agents know this. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Hopefully the pieces fall into place for Melvin the way they did for Shapiro and the Indians in 2008.
  9. There is no way we can give him that much money. Not only can the Brewers not pay him that type of money, but outside the budget-less Yankees, I don't see how any team can pay him that much money without significantly damaging the structure of their franchise. I just hope the majority of fans can keep some perspective when and if Fielder gets traded. The problem that arises is there are a LOT of fans that don't understand the financial structure of baseball, or even how player rights and contracts work. It will be a tough sell to the casual fans, but Melvin needs to do it somehow.
  10. Its been fun watching Prince, and he truly is a star. But there is no way I want the Brewers to over extend on a first baseman. Let another team step in front of this bullet.
  11. The question I can't wait to see answered is how long do we ride these old, overpaid scrap heap players before we give up on them?
  12. And the Cubs get to see the right-handed version this series as well. Nothing fires up a stagnant offense better than some Brewer pitching. Booooooooo!!!!
  13. Which begs the question, did we really need Doug Davis this year?
  14. As far at the thread topic, I think its safe to assume Gomez will not be leading off for the Brewers this year.
  15. Nothing would make my day more than to see a couple of Diego Dingers in Wrigley on opening day.
  16. I'm not sure the crowd was necessarily booing Hoffman off the field, but instead were booing the outcome of the top half of the 9th inning. I'm sure Hoffman understood the fans discontent at that time. Let's not all assume these athletes have as paper thin of skin as some think they do.
  17. Zaun is just a stop gap measure on a relatively cheap one year deal. Hopefully that gap closes really, really soon. Zaun looks like an old, career backup catcher that should not be getting 90+ starts for a playoff caliber team.
  18. This is what I am thinking. I will add that Hoffman will do fine against moderate hitters, but he is very susceptible against elite hitters in the league (as most pitchers are). I wouldn't mind seeing a situational closer go against elite hitters at some point this season, someone who can throw some gas (Hawkins, Braddock, etc.) to give the elite hitters a bit more of a challenge.
  19. Well at least he is going out with a bang. Oh Suppan, I will not miss thee. Have your three starts and then leave please.
  20. Franchise valuation. Looking at the Yankees vs. everyone else, and I can see Mark Attanasio's beef. There just isn't a good fix for the disparity. Link
