  1. A poster has laid out the alleged details of the contract extension in the link pretendastronaut provided. 5/$28M, $13M option. That poster at JSOnline has been right before.
  2. I just reviewed the reply of Olivo's homer off Braun's glove, and it appeared to be a tough play. I think it would have been a home run had Braun not got a glove on it.
  3. Add in the score from first base on Escobar's double, and he might be the MVB today (despite only blocking like 50% of the pitches in the dirt).
  4. Very cool win, especially given how bleak it looked early on.
  5. Look at Diego starting the game tying rally. These Doug Davis games will be epic battles, often deserving of three Acts.
  6. Kottaras has to do a better job of blocking these pitches, or he will not last up here.
  7. Rockies announcers stumped as to why Giambi is greeted with boos during his at-bats. Is it that hard to figure out?
  8. Wow, I remember being frustrated with Doug Davis, but never this frustrated.
  9. I can't wait to see Gonzalez leave town. Unfortunately Pujols is coming to town.
  10. Now that Suppan has been named the #5, the new question is how long of a leash does Melvin/Macha give him? Five starts? Ten starts?
  11. Oh thank God, I was worried there for a moment. We have tickets to the 4/24 Cubs game and I thought it would be Suppan's start. If TH is correct, and Suppan goes on the 14th, then he would be in line to pitch the 25th! Oh happy day, we dodged a bullet.
  12. This is fine rationale to start him over Hart (even though Edmonds hasn't faced Cook since 2008). I was referring to him batting 5th behind Prince, again.
  13. Hopefully one of the crack reporters can ask Gramps why he's doing this.
  14. The MLBPA should revise the grievance, charging the league with only having one New York Yankees team. There needs to be more than one virtually budget-less team.
  15. So, what will you think when he has 2 straight donut games? Depends on how many killer GIDPs are involved. It really is only two games, but I'm not expecting a whole lot from Zaun this year. I wonder if his quad is still bothering him.
  16. The Yankees & many of their fans in particular seem very thin-skinned about the revenue comments. This is true, and I think it stems from them knowing the rest of the nation thinks the Yankees just buy their championships, rather than actually earning them. I have not read the comments from Mark A, but it does sound like he is whining a bit with the way the ESPN article was written. I wonder how Levine's attitude would be if he were in a similar position with the Athletics or the Padres. His team is one of 5 or 6 like it, not the other way around.
  17. I'm not shocked anymore. It's been like this in Milwaukee for the last five years or so. I think it has a lot to do with the way he has been portrayed by the media (JS writers especially).
  18. Again reaffirming my decision to not watch the baseball recap show(s) on this network. Its good for live sports, and that's all I watch on ESPN. I stay happier this way.
  19. Sure would be nice to have a decent catcher one of these years.
  20. Especially since the Rockies didn't have anyone warming up.
  21. He can't pronounce Manny Parra's name correctly, so I don't expect him to pronounce other opposing pitchers' names correctly http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  22. I haven't seen Gallardo touch 94mph on the gameday speed, and he's down close to 90mph currently. Conversely, Jimenez was touching 98, and is now around 96.
  23. I agree... but years with the Cardinals and Cubs is enough for me. I recall not liking him because he could hit, and he played for those teams.
