  1. They are all below average players in my mind. Who else was going to be our catcher this year? Which leads me to my next vent... our catcher is terrible, again!!
  2. Hopefully he DOES get booed, because according to Wes that would make him try harder.
  3. I agree this was partly his point, but he also claimed that's how people are in this town. The only reason he doesn't get booed anywhere else is because no place else knows him like we do. I completely agree booing a player gives him more motivation.
  4. Exactly. How about booing a perennial MVP that plays for your own team?!?! Wes Helms needs to relax and think about all the money he stole from this organization and block out the boos. Get a helmet Wes. I for one don't boo that often, but I realize there are many fans on the bandwagon. Many of those fans are less than ideal people to sit next to, and many don't know jack about the team or the sport. Let them boo, they paid their money. I would rather have a stadium full of people booing Wes Helms than have 15K not caring what the outcome of the game is.
  5. Looked like Z asked out of the game. He was pretty filthy all day, but that homer might have hurt his delicate psyche.
  6. I am still stewing over how much I don't like Vargas right now. Too bad the Melvin couldn't unload him prior to the deadline while he still had some value. Walk the leadoff hitter and give up a three-run homer, shame on Claudio. One more hit, walk the next batter and then give up another three-run homer shame on Ned. Damn you Claudio, all you had to do was walk another hitter. Instead you tease Ned by striking out a batter. And damn you Braun, for all you had to do was not be so spectacular on that play for the second out and we would have been saved from the 2nd fatal home run. And most of all, damn you offense for not getting anything else done after the second inning. I hate losses, especially when I think we should have won.
  7. We were down late in the game yesterday and had to face their bullpen. That seemed to end well for us. You are correct. However one run is a bit different than 3 runs, especially for the Brewers.
  8. I have been laughing almost constantly for about 30 min now, and when not laughing, i have been thinking of starting a new website.
  9. I am getting weird looks from my dog, and my wife is ignoring me (thank God). Edit: and now the dog is ignoring me. Hello bedtime.
  10. That's because tonight's game does not exist. Then how can I be watching it right now?
  11. So what if they win? No action tomorrow either? Personally, I have taken a break from the Brewers for the last week. Maybe that was just awesome timing on my part, but I am ready to jump back on the horse!!!
  12. Interested to hear what Ned did wrong in that inning. Letting Counsell swing away at the first pitch with none out and a runner on first in a tie game. Blech. And I know I have heard Powell and Uecker bash on umps before, every announce does it in their own special way (ie, not sure where that one missed, but the zone has been inconsistant all game). IMO, i like announcers that call out a terribly officiated game, much like how Ted Davis rails on the NBA officials (one of whom was betting on the game he was reffereeing).
  13. Wow, bases loaded is a curse for this team right now.
  14. no bunt...why was counsell used then? No doubt Yost used him for his power stroke http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  15. but he's worth something instead of nothing if we waive him. That's very debatable. Ballfour cannot remain on this roster for much longer.
  16. Yosted!!! Put this one in the bucket of horribly managed games, yuck. And the press conference is just as bad. My frustration is rooted in Yost's inability to realize when a pitcher just doesn't have it. 3 walks? C'mon!!!!!!
  17. La Russa did a very poor job of managing the game overall. That said, while I was hoping he would pinch hit Pujols in the 9th, I kind of knew he wasnt going to do it. Kind of like watching Yost fumble with the lineup and stare at the bullpen phone when he should be walking to the mound to make a move.
  18. Rickie - 7 Ks a - Weeks and his .053 (1-19) July hasn't really helped much either. I had not realized Rickie had a hit this month. Good job Rickie.
  19. Wow, I'm going to the video store... again.
  20. Ned had some very pointed comments on that mound visit. Ned needs to bring the hook, Cappy is done. What is with Brewer pitchers and hitting the wall after the 5th inning? Its getting really old.
  21. I think Langerhans just won the game for the Nats. Dude shouldnt even be in the majors. Time for Rickie to go back on the DL. I'm going to Blockbuster http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  22. I am starting to think that Rickie Weak and his Sheffield wannabe batting style is flaming out in the majors. Its either that or he is still hurt, and if he is still hurt shame on him for not telling anyone.
  23. Rickie, if you are going to get a hit this week, please let it be now. Rickie Weak!!!
  24. The $42M man now has the highest ERA in the rotation. Oh wait, the highest ERA on the staff!!! All I can say is unbelievable and free agents are overrated. I remember not liking Suppan because he was a mediocre pitcher that always dominated the Brewers. Now he doesnt have the Brewers to dominate anymore, so there just is no domination :P
