  1. So you stopped holding your breath in April? That's just stupid. Wow Canada, pretty harsh - especially for a Mod. And BTW, two weeks ago yesterday (when i posted) was May. Yeh, they really nail observing how well a player has done in the recent past. Takes a special kind of guy to be able to do that. Some seem to think the season is 8 months long. Well its not, and it has been 1.5 months (25% of the season) now and still no results. To equate that to students, if you flunk 25% of your class, you are in trouble. It doesn't take a "special kind of guy" to see how contribution-challenged Gross has been this season, both offensively and defensively. For this year, I am going with the "don't wait until its too late" approach when looking for contribution. It's an approach the might be new to some Brewer fans, but it's something winning teams do. The Brewers are just about there, especially when there are plenty of other options available.
  2. I stopped holding my breath a couple weeks ago.
  3. I blame tonight's loss on yesterday's loss. Gross is terrible, bottom line. That is one thing Tim Allen and Sparky have nailed. The dude cannot do anything this year.
  4. Wow, so it is legal in baseball to bring your closer in to finish off the 8th. I'm afraid its game over.
  5. Well, Rickie made contact, but he's still 0 for 4. And 3 of the 0's are Ks. Too bad Yost needs to be hit with a brick to figure anything out. Maybe Cox can give him a call sometime?
  6. Counsell is such a waste of money. I'd rather have an injured Rillo. Indeed. I wonder how Prince feels making a quarter of what Craig Counsell makes. I would start getting upset. WTG Prince Fielder. Just might not be over yet.
  7. Who is this guy and what did he do with Chris Spurling?
  8. Not to get on anyone's side, but a .350 OBP is not great when talking about a leadoff hitter.
  9. Gross deserves no playing time whatsoever, and he might even get bumped by Nix if he keeps raking at AAA. Tony should be leading off, my only complaint on the lineup... besides Counsell of course, but that is a given.
  10. I like that lineup lots, similar to the one that scored 12 runs against the Mets on Saturday. After a loss like last night happens, I usually try the next day to find something that makes me feel better about the Brewers, and at 4pm I finally found it... Bad Chad Moeller is called up by the Reds, making me feel so much better that I am a Brewer fan, and not a Redleg fan.
  11. I like Yost, but he shouldn't have lost this one. I put this down as the 3rd game of the year that he lost but should have won. The other two were the Aquino games. Why is Spurling still in the bullpen if he is never an option?
  12. This is one loss and I think the Brewer's talent will serve them well this year. Maybe if it were said like, this is the type of demoralizing loss that could send a team into a funk for a while. Hope it doesn't happen, but wouldn't be suprised if it did.
  13. Shouse and Turnbow have been lights out all year. They come in tonight and throw batting practice and somehow it's Yost's fault. That part is not his fault. What is his fault is that he tried to fix something that wasn't broken with letting Shouse start the 8th. This one is the fault of the offense, they scored too many runs. Need to be up by either 3 or less, or by 8 or more in order to see Tbow start the 8th. Icky loss, get it back tomorrow. One more thing, Ned should have been able to see that Turnbow couldn't throw his breaking pitch for a strike, and should have made a move at that time. The Phillies simply started teeing off on all those consecutive fastballs.
  14. My favorite part is always the picture of the Brewer pitcher looking triumphant versus the opposing dude looking bewildered/frustrated. That is exactly what I thought, especially when looking at today's pics.
  15. For the first time in, well, as long as i can remember, the Brewers are just awesome. I can actually count the liabilities on one hand, and the assets are in abundance. Gabe Gross = Roy Howell, at best.
  16. This club is good, very good. Yost was pretty good today, and Prince was awesome. Can't wait for my trip to NY next weekend.
  17. Counsell does that as well as Graffanino I disagree, but I wont go to stats. I will rely on my memory, and I can't remember the last time Counsell put the ball in play. How great it was to see Billy line that rbi single to center. Close it out Coco!!
  18. Yost is going to have to do some managing in order to win this game. Edit: Now Graffy gets the pinch hit call, one inning too late.
  19. Its almost always a bad idea to let Counsell bat. He should be a defensive replacement player only, and I think we all know who he should be replacing defensively late in games. Didn't Gross start today? I thought I saw him in the lineup, but maybe i fell asleep for his at bats. *sigh* Waste of a roster spot imo.
  20. Vargas work faster Throwing more strikes and less balls Vargas work faster Brewers with ten hits More be fine, less is the pits Hall get up, get out...
  21. Sitting by home plate Surely will make me feel great Work faster Vargas!! Boo boo boo boo boobs Boobie boobie boobie boo boobs... boobs... boobs... boobs... booooooooobs http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. Where's the props for Spurling and his scoreless 1 2/3 innings? The guy's got the ERA down to 3.18. Hopefully he can keep it that way. Good job Spurling, hopefully this performance doesn't instill any confidence in Ned Yost regarding your use.
  23. Great win, great series. Too bad there is no Brewer game tonight.
  24. ... and for breakfast he had 4 eggs, but only one yolk, and oatmeal. He should be good to go. Since the game is not on TV today, I think I will just go to MP to see the brooms come out. I could live with an 11 game win streak and a 10-0 homestand. Yeah, that would be ok.
