  1. Wonder if Barnes is injured, he's been giving up a bunch of hits.
  2. Blazek stated he thought he was having a good spring. I guess compared to his last spring, this is true.
  3. I like scahill and am really surprised no one picked him up when he was taken off the 40 man. I've never been impressed with the so called veterans that the Brewers bring to camp. Every year the young guys out pitch them and what reward do they get... a return trip to AAA. Really doesn't make any sense on a rebuilding team but trying to create veteran value from nothing is something Stearns likes to do. Getting that 1 out of 10 trade chip makes Stearns the stellar gm that fans want. For a guy that doesnt have much MLB experience, it will be interesting to see how long the Stearns tenure lasts. Why not create value with the young guys?
  4. Relievers have been unimpressive for USA
  5. From what I saw in 5 games...Pina and Bandy are the guys.
  6. Was at the game when Erceg hit the homers...what I liked even better was his defense...made a diving stop and threw out a batter.
  7. Of course the Brewers are going to try and get him for a low ball offer. I'm glad to see that he thinks that he is worth more.
  8. Surprised the arbitrator didn't split it down the middle.
  9. Brewers Record: 72-90 Playoffs: No Brewers MVP: Perez Brewers CY Young: Davies Brewers ROY: Hader First player traded: Anderson Surprise player: Pina Disappointing player: Thames World Series: Dodgers over Indians
  10. I don't mind some changes to baseball but this isn't one of them. If a game goes extra innings in the lower levels...teams already have solutions...phantom DL and active another player...simple. This clearly gives an advantage to a team with the fastest baserunner...unless its last batter out. Let a team earn the win.
  11. Davies agent isn't going to have him sign some low ball extension offer, if it was offered.
  12. 2009...Remove Eric Arnett...add Steven Matz.
  13. The cards were winning long before the hacking started...just makes me wonder...
  14. Does anyone esle find it interesting that the Cards would be hacking the Astros and not the other way around?
  15. Well they gave 15 million for 3 years to an unproven player to play 1b...so anything is possible.
  16. His numbers may have looked a lot better since starting but did you see last year as a reliever only. Not so good. I would take a chance on the younger guys or convert one of the starters into a relief role.
  17. Please don't sign Romo or Castillo.
  18. I'm all for signing 1-2 bounce back vets or vets who have had a solid track record. For me, I want to see Barnes, Knebel, Torres, Marinez, Magnifico for sure. I'm very curious to see how Suter will do in spring out of the pen full time (don't even bounce back and forth) as I think he can contribute. Blazek has had some success as well. Parker I think will be gone at some point. Scahill, Cravy I want nothing to do with. Stearns will add some guys here for sure and that's where Scahill, Parker types can lose their 40 for an upgrade. Maybe it's wishful thinking given he's never seen AAA but I'm very intrigued by Ramsey. Excited to see how he does in spring. He's just dominated everything so far and is 27 all year next year (people have asked questions surround his injury in 2015 and it was his lower back - Marlins thought it was a minor injury but it actually kept him out all season). Two guys who were as good as anyone in relief work last year were Suter and Cravy. Suter era in relief work was 0.00 and Cravy was 0.81. Saw Thornburg make some recent comments about it being tough going back and forth between a starter and reliever, which is exactly what has been going on with Suter and Cravy. Magnifico was closing for AAA but since the Brewers are searching a closer, I don't see him in that role. I can see Marinez or Torres taking over as a closer if we don't sign someone but I think 2 FA relievers will be signed. Moves were made before the season started last year, I look for more of the same.
  19. Did we lose Elvis Rubio too? The problem with stockpiling talent is other teams take notice.
  20. Tough to see Miguel Diaz go, a guy I had been legitimately excited about. do you really think a guy can jump from low A to the bigs and stay on the roster all season? If Wang can do it on a contending club then the Padres certainly can. My thoughts exactly. He will easily stay on the Padres roster all year.
  21. That league is equivalent of a low AAA or AA team..his numbers won't be anywhere near what he did in Korea. Its a lot of money for a .240.hitter and 15 homer guy. Let the predictions begin...
  22. It's a little troubling to me that Nottingham and Phillips are barely above Tebow in batting average.
  23. Swap pinstripe for something else.
  24. on 7 october 2005, the brewers outrighted a player to the minors. on 13 october, he declared free agency. on 18 november, he was signed to a minor league deal by the royals. on 8 december, the pirates took him in the rule 5 draft. can you name this player? Victor Santos?
  25. I don't see how the speed of play is going to get any better especially when they are talking about making the strike zone smaller.
