  1. I watched his 5 innings...looked very good.
  2. Getting hurt...an excellent way to make a 500,000 dollars and accumulate MLB service time.
  3. Interesting little video on Arrieta. I'm wondering why he's allowed to put foreign substance on his forearm? Will Smith got caught for doing this. The umps need to enforce this a bit more. Rosin is one thing...mixing substances is another. This is creating an unfair advantage and I see it happening a lot throughout the league. https://streamable.com/0pua
  4. It would of been nice if the Brewers selected the guy that the Orioles took in the rule 5. Guy can play all OF positions and is hitting pretty well for them.
  5. The more teams shift...the more hitters are going to bunt and slap the ball against it...going to skew the sabermetric data over the next couple of years.
  6. How many shifted plays have cost us a double play? I counted two today and have seen it happen numerous times this year.
  7. Especially when other guys are struggling at the plate.
  8. Because CC lacks creativity like most managers. Set in their ways with how staffs are used. That game should've been pieced together from the 2nd inning on. Right away when he was in trouble in the second. You have the day off tomorrow and a guy like Cravy is going no where. Send him down if you blow him out early in the season and get the next rag arm up. Stupid managing and a horrible start today didn't give this team a prayer at competiting. A little harsh, isn't it? Cravy gave up 2 of Jungmann's runs. Plus, this year isn't about wins and losses, it's about development. We'll see Broxton, Flores, Rivera, and the pitching staff take many lumps this year. But that's because we want them to have chances to succeed, struggle, and make adjustments. I know we were all frustrated early with Gomez and happy to hand the job to Tony Plush, but in the end our patience was rewarded. Gomez got 3 seasons of failure, I think we can give guys more than a few innings or bad starts In Cravys defense...throwing seven pitches in bullpen before getting the call didn't help. Davies coming up Sunday so Cravy will be down. We should of had guys warming up in pen after a couple hits in the second.
  9. Wilkins was rung up earlier in the game on a pitch that was a foot off the plate and let the umpire know about it. He vented in the 9th.
  10. How about some of the defense by Hill? Stopped a couple bullets over at 3rd.
  11. Counsell stated that veterans in the bullpen gives the team the best chance of winning games.
  12. Rumor has it that Morales signed with Toronto...back to back rings?
  13. Torres couldn't make the Braves bullpen roster out of spring training and their bullpen is worse than the Brewers, so how is it he make the Brewers pen? Someone explain that to me. Would of rather seen Goforth and Cravy as opposed to Torres and Boyer. We went young on the rebuild except in the bullpen. Does anyone know if this is Goforth and Cravy second options used?
  14. Anderson is no ground ball pitcher. Can't believe they would acquire him and move Davies to AAA. He has been horrible, makes me think Arizona knew something. The amazing thing about the trade is the Brewers actually thought they got a steal of a deal. Bring Wagner back!
  15. Interested to know how much Cappy is going to make...Morales would of made 2 - 4 million.
  16. Boyer's performance in 2015 carries a lot more weight than a handful of innings in Arizona. Capuano's ERA of nearly 8 last year makes him the underdog vs. Morales too. His 4.6 K/9 in 2015? Or his league leading 18 inherited runs scored?
  17. I watched a lot of games this spring on Tv and at Maryvale. Boyer absolutely looked worse than Capuano, Morales, Cravy and Goforth this spring. Obviously looking for him to have a great season so they dump him for a prospect.
  18. I need to agree with everything you mention. Why should he try in the OF, he's getting paid anyway. Jogging to balls, wrong routes...teams consistently take extra bases on Davis and Braun. Want a winning team start with defense in the outfield...Look at KC.
  19. I don't understand why Rivera can't play 3rd...At least he has better range than most of the guys available in free agency. Is he automatically slated to play 2nd or SS in the next couple of years?
  20. I agree totally...why the spring invite? We may have around 100 guys in major camp come spring.
  21. Was he added to 40 man roster?
  22. But this time we found one on the clearance rack! Why does it even matter when we are hoping to lose 90-100 games next season? At least the potential of becoming a serviceable player is still there. Watched him play 3rd a couple years ago in the AFL...wasn't impressed... Haven't seen him play OF...Hopefully his offense will offset his defense then it may be justified.
  23. Great...another guy with limited range and erratic arm to play 3rd.
