  1. Not a big Braun fan. I guess Garza being the chiseled veteran can do whatever he wants, but if an employer asks you to do something (and being paid by the employer) and you refuse, most of us would have been shown the door permanently. Maybe Garza would be better out the pen, they tried it with Peralta. And I do understand that since he has a guaranteed contract that they would never let him go and the option will get picked up but I think we have two or three guys in the minors that could be in a 5th starter role.
  2. Anyone know what's up with Sean Nolin?
  3. Why is that in blue? It's true... So he's forever a dick because 2yrs ago at 31 and forever being a solid starter believing he's still talented he refused to go to the bullpen and because even longer ago he tweeted about some player's wife? The past 2yrs have you ever heard any stories or rumors about Garza being an selfish mofo/bad teammate? Doesn't seem like he's a clubhouse cancer The fact that he wouldn't go to the pen pretty much sums it up. He gets paid either way. I have way more respect for Kyle Lohse, who actually did go into the pen when asked. It should be about what's best for the team.
  4. Glad we don't have a Homer Bailey...making 19 million this year.
  5. Love it when Scooter takes it to his former team...Karma works in mysterious ways.
  6. Personally I think Cooper is better than Aguilar or Thames. We will see who has the longer career. You can go ask any of the AAA players who the best hitter on the team was and all of them will answer Cooper...not santana, not broxton, not sogard, not dejesus, not phillips, not bandy, not susac.
  7. Seriously doubt that...Broxton batted .256 in minors, Santana batted .282 in minors. Cooper spent a total of 1 year in the Springs, don't see how that's a majority of his career.
  8. Aguilar averaged .271 in his minor league career.
  9. I dont think anyone mentioned cooperstown, but how many guys in the brewers minor league organization have a career batting average over .300...Cooper was one. Bottom line is the guy can hit.
  10. I loved the Thornburg trade, hate the Cooper trade. I don't think he's going to be a huge homer guy but he works hard and has learned to hit the ball the opposite way. Think this was last night...Garrett Cooper had a historic night on Wednesday, becoming the first Yankees rookie first baseman to collect four hits in a single game since Joe Collins did so back on May 21, 1950.
  11. You may want to mention Melvin in that equation with your snide remark as he has a huge imprint on that roster. Probably just as much as Stearns at this point. These are the type of comments that just aren't called for. Heaven forbid some posters don't agree with Stearns. I wouldn't say Melvin has a huge impact on the roster. Melvin's guys like Braun and Nelson seem to be performing well. Stearns guys not so much right now but it's a 5 or 6 year rebuild so he has lots of time left.
  12. Cooper was 2 for 4 today...up to .378 and too be quite honest since watching a bunch of his games at AAA, he's a better defensive 1B than Thames or Aguilar. He only plays one position but he's good at it.
  13. It's pretty bad when a player can outrun a ball thrown by Khris Davis. Bartolo Colon could be on 2nd base and score on a base hit to left.
  14. Blazek pitched fine for 6 1/3 innings. And then really, really, really badly for 2 1/3. You can't wipe away the 2 1/3. Suter has pitched fine for the better part of 54 1/3 innings this year. There is a reason that Scahill has been outrighted 3 times this year, and Blazek once. Between the two of them, 116 teams have passed them over when given the chance to claim them on waivers for free. He was bad in his 2 1/3 but it was a start not in relief. Hader should of made the start IMO. You are right in the fact that no one picked them up on waivers but I think both will be pitching for someone else next year.
  15. The guys with good to great numbers at Colorado Springs, Blazek, Wang, Scahill and Espino are back in AAA. The guys that had worse numbers at AAA like Suter and Hader are still in Majors. My point is it doesn't matter what the numbers are in AAA. With the exception of Wang who really wasn't given a chance, Blazek, Scahill, and Espino have shown a pretty strong proficiency for not being able to pitch well in MLB. Suter and Hader have for the most part pitched well. And Hader is far and away the best pitcher of the group, so he should be playing wherever the Brewers think it is best for him to be playing. Blazek out of the bullpen didn't pitch well this year?

  17. I seriously doubt he was referring to baseball.
  18. great marketing ploy to sell more jerseys
  19. Counsell is locked up until 2020. Got a 3 year deal in offseason. Not sure how much it was for.
  20. How's that change of scenery helping Jeffress?
  21. There is no way they let an option burn on Woodruff!
