I had no issue with the debate. I just felt some of the posts were a bit heavy-handed, but whatever.

I trust your information, but how do you reference this? I've longed for better transactional records on all of my favorite websites.

Really good interview with BA on MLB Network this morning. He has certainly brushed up on his knowledge of the 2025 Brewer team.

That '92 Team was the one that really solidified my attachment to the Brewers for a lifetime. I was a bit too young to appreciate the previous good teams. I played an awful lot of backyard catch listening to Uecker on the radio that summer, and distinctly remember listening to the 31-hit performance, and falling asleep listening to west-coast road trips on school nights that season.

"Vaughn isn’t making more contact, but he’s making higher-quality contact, perversely, by lowering his average launch angle." That was the money line for me, from that article. I maintain that the Brewers are deliberately countering FIP-based, launch-angle attack pitching. Short strike zones also mitigate those 4-seamers up in the zone.

So, he hasn't! I could've sworn he played some mop-up there for a few innings-worth when they first brought him up. I guess I don't like his versatility as much as I have been imagining.

Maybe like a rich-man's version of the Brewers? In nearly all of the same ratings that the Brewers have been great at this season, the Jays are right there with them, including bowing down to the Yankees at the beginning of the season, and ripping off impressive months afterwards.

I don't think the impending roster crunch will have as much drama attached to it as we think on August 7th. They can option Monasterio, Siegler, and/or Lockridge. Even Durbin and Collins have options. In addition, on August 7th many of us wouldn't blink if they DFA'd Hoskins and Bauers (although I don't like the idea of Hoskins catching on somewhere in the National League and hurting the Brewers later). Tyler Black can backfill the Bauers bench-AAA-shuttle role decently enough. I think their playoff roster could feature Hoskins on the bench in place of either Monasterio or Seigler. I think it kind of depends on if the Brewers think Siegler can play shortstop near Monasterio-levels. As much as people rag on Seigler getting playing time, I think the Brewers want a lefty on the bench. For myself, I'd rather have him on the 26-man roster instead of Bauers or Black, who are so compromised by their inability to play 3rd.

The only other colors you'll need to worry about seeing in the stands are green and gold.

Waaaayy fewer Brewer fans would be willing to sell their seats.

Alright, alright, you guys made your point. You have to acknowledge that most of the recent players they've brought up in the last couple of years feature the defensive slap-hitter profile*. Not everyone is as versed as our illustrious maestros of the minor league forum. *Excepting Chourio, and perhaps Mitchell, whom both excelled defensively as well as having power

Yeah, I know I'm much more concerned about the Chourio hamstring than Misiorowski's shin, that's for sure. I would describe myself as, "cautiously concerned." Part of me just thinks the team believes so much in their squad depth that they really just want to get Chourio to get fresh for the playoff push, physically and mentally. Dude's still a kid and probably could use some encouragement to not try to rush back.

Right. They need to see what they have in Seigler before the Cubs series and other playoff push games.

I understand the rationale. But the White Sox are a business worth $1B+. That rationale barely makes sense for a fantasy GM.

They have the best record in baseball, and one of the deepest, if not THE deepest organization, top-to-bottom in baseball. The biggest opportunity to improve, as we all just lived through at the deadline, is to get another infielder, with the following traits: IDEAL --- realistic... Good infield defense at SS/2nd/3rd --- any corner IF Above league average bat vs. RHP --- is a left-handed hitter to spell Ortiz/Durbin/Vaughn Easily acquired/promoted --- expensive to acquire I think the Brewers have been trying to acquire/develop this hypothetical player for a while, most notably in the draft/minors (Turang, Black, (Zavier) Warren, Dunn, Bauers, EMJ, Boeve, Bitonti, Made, Di Turi, Burke, Adamczewski, Seigler, Fischer --- righties Luis Pena, Luke Adams, Brock Wilken, and Pratt). I suspect they believe in those guys, although unless Made explodes next season, I don't see a guy there that represents an IDEAL candidate, as most of them are probably either 1st or 2nd basemen, or they can't hit well enough to be counted on in a starting role. This guy would represent many of the characteristics. In terms of MLB players that could be acquired, I think it's slim pickings, depending on how strongly the player fits one of those characteristics. I think this is the toughest part about Yelich being a DH. Maybe there's a deal to be had involving salary relief for a guy like Jake Cronenworth? Luis Garcia Jr.? Scooter's favorite, Brett Baty?

Does anyone think this could just be coincidence? That the White Sox scouts are telling the front office to pick up these players regardless of who they used to play for? Because this sure looks like a deliberate strategy, which to me smacks of an unserious organization that lacks any real plan or scouting acumen.
