  1. If you think other drivers are bad as it is, try commuting on a bicycle every day. Nothing like being surrounded by vehicles that not only are capable of crushing you like a bug, but 99% of the time don't acknowledge your presence whatsoever. Even after taking to riding on the sidewalk out of fear of my life, there's still at least one situation a day where I could easily see myself getting killed by a car had I not been such a defensive rider. The vast majority of the time it's people looking to make a right turn on red, where they just cruise into and through the crosswalk, only watching cross-traffic for an opening and paying no attention to whether any cyclists or pedestrians might be crossing the street in front of them.
  2. If there is anyone who feels that way, it would be best for them not to make any posts in this thread from here on out.
  3. Definitely go to the zoo.
  4. It's not just you. We're working on it.
  5. In order to post, yes, one needs to have their application approved by me. Here is the application page that prospective members see.
  6. In case people haven't heard, the second act of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is online today, with the final act being available Saturday. It's written by Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Firefly creator Joss Whedon and stars Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Horrible and Nathan Fillon as Captain Hammer, his arch nemesis.
  7. I guess it comes down to what specs you're willing to settle for and at what price. The MacBook is simpler (13" screen, 2.1-2.4 GHz, 1-2 GB memory, 120-250 GB hard drive) and generally cheaper ($1,099-$1,499). Whereas the MacBook Pro is slightly larger and more powerful (15-17" screen, 2.4-2.5 GHz, 2 GB memory, 200-250 GB) and much more expensive ($1,999-$2,799). The performance gap between the two is much smaller than that of the iBook and PowerBook, so it more or less is a matter of personal preference and whether the slight upgrade in performance of the MacBook Pro is worth the extra money. I'm not a graphic designer or anything close, but I use Illustrator and Photoshop fairly frequently on my old PowerBook G4 (1.5 GHz, 1.5 GB memory, 80 GB hard drive) and it manages to still chug along at a pretty decent clip. So the MacBook and MacBook Pro will have no trouble handling those programs.
  8. Corey Hart is my new favorite Brewer.
  9. Selig was correct to call that tie game in 2002.
  10. This damn game won't end.
  11. Color me surprised at Braun's at-bat there.
  12. Those people who not only walk on the wrong side of the sidewalk, but then act so inconvenienced and annoyed by it that you're the one that ends up moving out of the way.
  13. The stadium is nice and the location is nice, but downtown St. Louis can be a bit of a ghost town at times (not as much around Cardinals games though). And since they're both night games, your only options are really the various restaurants/bars scattered around the park. If you're looking for something to do during the daytime, it's easy to catch the Metrolink out of downtown and head out to Forest Park (zoo, art museum, science center; all free admission) or some decent restaurants in The Loop. You can also always go to the Arch; if so, make a point of watching the documentary about how it was built.
  14. According to Gameday, the only pitch that was in the strike zone was the one that Kapler fouled off.
  15. Dunn coming in? Where's a LOOGY when we need one?
  16. Peculiar choice bringing in Torres here. Not necessarily wrong, but peculiar.
  17. Reds fans must really hate Hall.
  18. Doug Eddings expertly calls Lugo out on this play at first... http://www.geocities.com/stevece80/SoSH/0711081956.jpg

  20. How does DiFelice not have spot on the roster?
  21. According to the YouTube comments (gutsy move reading them, I know), the first video is from a charity game and what they're doing is some sort of Korean children's 'wrestling' game where you try and knock the other person over. So it seems that they are indeed just joking around.
  22. Okay, the thread's back open. Prove me wrong.
