  1. Suppose there are a few journeymen on the roster to shuffle through first, but Green has to be getting a serious look. Zavolas has to be dying to pitch. Begins season in Biloxi, gets pushed back to make a start for Nashville instead, Nashville's game postponed, sent back to Biloxi to start tonight and now that gets postponed.
  2. I predict Peterson takes Reyes' roster spot. Given Fisher hasn't played any 1B, I think he's headed for a DFA. With all the injuries, they might as well ride out the assignment and have the option to activate him as insurance until the last possible day. As of today, I think pitching would be Burnes, Yardley, and Lindblom for Zimmerman, Weigel, and Perdomo, with the last two optioned. Lauer has pitched himself onto the roster.
  3. Nice pick there. Pretty good tag by Vogelbach. For a presumed defensive liability, the bat has been by far the bigger problem.
  4. As a Zavolas fan, was disappointed he didn't get invited to the ATS last year or ML spring training after being the Carolina League Pitcher of the Year. Now to (at least temporarily) skip AA is intriguing.
  5. [sarcasm]INF/OF Hernán Pérez has been signed to a Minor League contract and assigned to Triple-A Nashville.[/sarcasm]
  6. I don't now what is more tortorous: Bettinger getting lit up again to put this out of reach, or if this ends in another 5-4 defeat.
  7. 1 for 19 this year before DFA. He will fit right in!
  8. It's fun when your team walks the bases loaded and then gets a big hit. 13 walks in an inning somehow sounds like a miserable way to watch your team put up 12 runs.
  9. Counsell stated that Hiura wouldn't be playing right away:
  10. Taylor needs to play more. I know everyone here has read that 10,000 times, but maybe CC will log in some time and read it for the first time
  11. Was intrigued after seeing he had a big game and isn't a 30-something roster filler. Put up good offensive numbers the past two full seasons in AA/AAA as well. One to watch, though as you note it would be an easier path if he could play third (or first, which at 5'9" can be ruled out).
