I'd think of him more for next year, with a chance to bounce back healthy. Even then, don't see where he would fit. If he could also handle 3B/OF maybe there's a place, but he's been average at best at second so not really someone you sign for a role that would require good defense primarily coming off the bench. Plus someone is going to be fine with signing a recent All-Star second baseman to play his natural position.
Weird that Gamel, the routine bench player, is going down instead of Grisham, who isn't getting the regular ABs he needs to be getting. Suppose Spangenberg could be an option for the roster next year so there's some time to evaluate him. If he can play a passable SS he makes more sense than Perez.

Francis with 9 K's in 6 IP for Biloxi. Have to think some starting pitching breaks through next year between Brown or Supak figuring things out or File, Bettinger, or Francis not hitting that same AAA wall. Doesn't look like A ball has been much of a challenge for him. T-Rats have had a nice second half, now above .500 for the season.

If only Hader was himself we could let him dig in for three with a reasonable chance at the no hitter. Lyles for 150 or turning it over to the current bullpen leaves much worse odds.
Noah's ERA actually 2.98 for the year, looks like 3.52 is using total runs. Noah's stuff actually reminds me of Davies. Second pitch is a curve vs. the change, but similar fastballs and control reliance. Davies A+ in the Carolina League, for kicks. Biggest difference is that he was a 20 year old vs. 23: 148.2 IP | 3.69 ERA | 8.0 K9 | 2.3 BB9 | 0.6 HR9 | 8.8 H9
