  1. Good low risk move for Gio. These are the incremental moves you make as a .500 team currently tanking it; the team needs to prove itself as a pennant contender before going for more splash moves. Also got to believe at this point there's just way too much organizational depth to not find five serviceable starters the rest of the way.
  2. Braun was arguing that? It was a nice pitch.
  3. Ah, Shaw with the strike out swinging at ball five feet off the plate to reach strategy. Smart
  4. Another meatball, unfortunately. So is Wilkerson up next, or is Gio making a return?
  5. Oof. Only real big mistake of the night, but that was a meatball.
  6. I don't want to see much of this. If Moose isn't ready to go by Tuesday they have to call up Saladino or Dubon.
  7. Hope they don't follow last year's pattern and play four days shorthanded to see if Moose can play. Not with so many options in AAA.
  8. "Two remaining on the bench: Thames and Yasmani Grandal." Come on, Rock. I literally trust Woodruff more than our 3 and 4 hitters!
  9. A team "all in" doesn't get to let young players play through really poor play when there are many options available. Good decision. Also good to not move him to the pen if the intention is still to have him start this year. Tom @Haudricourt Counsell said the start Saturday vs. Dodgers will be handled internally, with Chase Anderson the centerpiece. As for Monday in St. Louis, that's TBD at present. Sounds like he will/should start. Would guess Wilkerson for Monday, but it could always end up being Houser.
  10. A Burnes option and Wilkerson start Monday seems agreeable. Only question is if Houser is coming up Saturday or if Anderson is getting the ball.
  11. Blame Andy Haines and all his silliness that's caused our players to take pitches and get on base.
