  1. Encouraging that our relievers are in the top half in NL ERA at 7th, despite 27 more innings than any other team.
  2. Enjoyed him as a Brewer. ERA was up over 6 before the game. Always has had that inconsistency, but when he's on he's that good.
  3. Fun fact: Burch Smith made it back to the big leagues last year by tricking the Royals into believing he was Josh Hader. http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Burch+Smith+Milwaukee+Brewers+Vs+Kansas+City+kF7cSSr7aofl.jpg
  4. I think Suzuki would have chosen to exit if he knew he'd have to get a tissue shoved in his ear then stay out there for 10 more batters.
  5. A little tough to be rung up on that on 0-2. Certainly not to the point that it's worth getting tossed over.
  6. Yes. Gamel for Santana just another great stearns trade. Plus we got Zavolas, who is doing really well in Carolina. Davies-like repertoire, velocity maybe a tick or two higher.
  7. So the way to get the low strike called tonight is to practically bounce it off the plate...
  8. Can we start him in the 2nd? “We’re allowed to do that, yeah,” Counsell said with a smile. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2019/05/06/brewers-mull-using-opener-front-peralta-tuesday-against-nats/1115943001/
  9. If "opener" is just clearing the first inning it could be literally anyone other than Hader. If meant to get to the pitcher's spot then Houser or Burnes makes the most sense.
  10. Nelson AAA appearance: 3.1 IP, 3 R, 2 H, 4 BB, 3 K, 72 pitches, 40 strikes Both hits singles. Threw more than I would have expected.
  11. Shaw still has options. Probably time to get him out for a couple weeks to figure things out and plug Hiura in.
  12. Best is probably recalling Saladino and putting Perez out there. Or just bringing up Taylor, though he is slumping badly.
  13. Too good defensively to worry about. Given the limited ABs he's getting, literally four more times on base over the past six weeks would skew his offense from "non-existent" to "good backup catcher". Not enough to roll the dice that Freitas or Nottingham can play near the same defense and would also make a difference offensively.
  14. I suppose this is the problem. I expected one of the starting pitchers would be well-versed enough that you'd pinch hit them for the better chance at getting it down.
