  1. So unexpected, and only 53. Thoughts go out to Bruce's family. http://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/2012/06/06/images/mlbf_22079689_th_43.jpg
  2. The towel was thrown in with one out in the bottom of the first. RRR was kind enough to wait six more innings to keep up appearances.
  3. Nah, a dangerous pattern to get immersed into. And the situation right now is beyond a manager or any individual saving alone...in 2008, Edgar's idiocy was literally 80% of the problem. [sarcasm]Craig Counsell[/sarcasm]
  4. Just noticed that other than the Rangers (who quit months ago), no team in baseball has lost more than two in a row...we're going on seven and getting blown out in most of them. Just embarrassing. Welcome to the majors, Rogers. Play the hungry kids. Tomorrow's lineup should have Rogers, Clark, and Gomez. Why continue to trot out the same faces in essentially the same order only to get blown out? Rather than seeing it something will hold for a change, nuke the lineup and yank the pitcher after the first rough spot - you have 34 players after all. I was for putting the Narrons on a paddleboat in the SF Bay and leaving town without them. Provide a pen and paper for Jerry to do some calligraphy.
  5. Well, no Reynolds and Segura is a plus. Enough to make me think we might actually win a game tonight.
  6. Will we hang a "150 days in first place" banner next to the division winning one?
  7. It's incredible how someone can have 21 homers yet 44 RBIs and a .690 OPS. The powerless Overbay is even at a .691 OPS and scaling up to as many at-bats as Reynolds would be at 52 RBIs.
  8. Hopefully Rogers is coming at a minimum. Might be a day delay just due to affiliate obligations, technically providing them with a full roster for their last game.
  9. 3 @ Chicago N (Turner; Arrietta; Hendricks) 1-2 4 vs Saint Louis (Masterson; Lackey; Lynn; Wainwright) 1-3 4 vs Miami (Penny; Koehler; Cosart; Evoladi) 2-2 3 vs Cincinnati (Latos, Axelrod; Leake) 2-1 3 @ Saint Louis (Lackey; Lynn; Wainwright) 1-2 3 @ Pittsburg (Locke; Volquez; Worley) 1-2 3 @ Cincinnati (Cueto; Latos; Axelrod) 2-1 3 vs Chicago N (Hendricks; Wada; Wood) 1-2 11-15 Mark A will be livid. Heads will roll.
  10. A tie with St. Louis, seven games to play against them. We'll do the usual peeing our pants in intimidation and go 2-5. That leaves 19 games to play four games better than them.
  11. It would be lovely to win a game for once. Also need to knock Baumgarner around so Fiers can win NL Pitcher of the Month.
  12. Start a Super Roenicke Special on Monday: Herrera SS Parra RF Gennett 2B Davis LF Overbay 1B Maldonado C Rogers 3B Schafer CF Nelson P I bet we'd score nine runs.
  13. Fiers manages to scrape by with a quality start. Though it looks like a blow up when you watch this offense unable to even get a hit.
  14. Guy can't hit the plate, and Lucroy swings at the first pitch that was probably out of the zone to help him get ahead and settle in. Pitching 7.2 IP and only giving up 2 ER with 8 K's at Brevard County. There's hope for him yet! Like putting the Narrons on a paddleboat in the bay and ditching them when we go to Chicago.
  15. Maybe Mark A will get pissed off with the late season meltdown and we'll fire the manager in September again. Except this time the manager is behind a score of players and probably a few coaches on our problem list.
  16. Wang will be back soon. Then all will be right. Can't expect to win without your Wang.
  17. If anyone has the ability to control the weather, please make it pour to end this thing early. Estrada making Peralta look like he had ace stuff tonight. 7 runs and over 70 pitches to get through two innings? Even Wang could do better.
  18. It's worth rolling the dice versus the certainty of Peralta giving up more. With a depleted pen perhaps not, with the day off yesterday and rosters expanding Monday, take the chance.
  19. Pull him after the first and roll the dice with Estrada because you add up to six arms on Monday, it could be 3-1. Now Estrada enters in the fourth with the game out of reach...the only thing lost is a chance to win the game.
