It feels like there have been many of these puzzling Reds signings over the years when they needed to fully rebuild but for some reason can't help themselves from wasting money.

I would be fine with moving on from Mitchell in favor of better options. But we don't have them. Therefore, keep him until a prospect is ready (none are really close) or a very compelling signing provides an alternative. Right now our alternatives are Cameron and Avans. I'll take Mitchell's upside but injury risk over them if we eventually have one roster spot between the three of them.

Great job, Megill! 17/19 is a good clip. Should have consideration to be our All-Star. Koenig needs to get his head out of his butt. Between not covering the bag and throwing a pitch that the play-by-play guy is telling him not to throw. Contreras shared blame on that one as well.

That little live look into the replay booth really makes me think they have the best job ever. Just sit there in a big room with a bunch of bros and watch every baseball game. Then they occasionally have you all gather around, crack a cold one and watch up close to make a call together.

Mitchell (returning first) takes Cameron's spot, probably next week. Perkins takes the full month of rehab, then see where we are between him vs. Mitchell vs. injuries in the meantime vs. the approaching trade deadline.

They certainly do. Quero has been very productive in the couple weeks since returning to AAA. Seigler catches and plays 2nd and 3rd. Either would be fine to back up Haase for a bit. The tradeoff is that the lineup is so weak that Contreras has been one of our better hitters lately despite not having any of his power.

Checked up on him just this morning. He's looking like a 2026 Atlantic Leaguer. Remembering just a few years ago when Frelick, Mitchell, and Wiemer were promoted from AA on the same day, then joined by Esteury Ruiz and all spent the rest of the year raking and running. Interesting the paths taken by each since then.

Seems they were just trying to make salaries work (especially with the cash plug added). Probably not any takers that were willing to pick up salary and give a Dominican lottery ticket. I don't even want him taking ABs away from Black or Martinez in AAA (or Quero as DH when not catching). Which leaves the outfield, which Sox fans are saying is quite an experience. -

Trade would be best. He's been pitching well enough to start. We have a lot of depth. Plenty in AAA, and eventually they're probably going to want to test Crow and Cornielle in AAA since they both need to be rostered next season.
