  1. All I can come up with is he didn't want to play baseball but wanted to keep his bonus.
  2. He does it the next night. Come on, Murph.
  3. Maybe not trade-for multiple times, but Melvin's fascination with K-Rod was a hoot. I think he traded for K-Rod once, signed him three times, and traded him away twice.
  4. Rough games for us east coasters. Before bedtime thought - there shouldn't be any days where Frelick is in the lineup and Mitchell is not. We have to roll with Mitchell and hope to unlock another solid outfielder. Frelick doesn't seem to have that potential given there's zero power there.
  5. Can the West Bend Silver Lining of that be that Milner gets DFA'd?
  6. Perkins might want to go fill in for the Giants throwing like that.
  7. Well, took Collins all of three pitches to exceed Hicklen's production.
  8. He's been quite consistent all year. Little down month in July. Thing with Hicklen for me was I just didn't like calling up a guy who had completely lost it the previous month. Probably going to only play against LHP, but cool to see a switch hitter with such miniscule splits.
  9. Going up there hacking against Devin is certainly a strategy. A really bad one.
  10. Suppose it's better to try it after Willy got a couple hacks in than earlier in the count.
  11. Another on the well-known player most people forgot was a Brewer list
  12. The one thing Hicklen might have been useful for, and he can't even do that.
  13. Our offense lately suggests we might get two so they can use up additional pitching in extra innings. Where they'll put together some of the worst at bats this side of AA.
  14. A third baseman, but Chapman gets the ballpark deal we were thinking as a floor for Adames: 6 / $151M https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/41130330/giants-3b-matt-chapman-reach-6-year-extension-worth-151m
  15. No, but he does have enough experience in left. Considering the ABs we're getting from OFs not named Chourio, it might offset the downgrade in defense to put him out there.
  16. Another extra innnings coin flip. Sigh.
  17. Sticking Haase in left against LHP is probably a better idea than hoping Hicklen can hit. Not great, but has enough experience out there.
  18. What I don't quite get is why this isn't an IL stint. I hear "velocity is down", "dead arm", "scheduled AAA appearances". Isn't that what the IL is for? He's probably going to take five or six days then resume what are effectively scheduled rehab outings in Nashville. All I could figure was the Brewers used up their cache of phantom IL placements that MLB will tolerate. But there's a more legitimate injury concern here than with Milner, Mears, or Wilson.
