  1. Totally understand and agree with him not being added to the 40 to be the 26th man, but if Frelick has to go to the IL it's going to force the hand on Lara.
  2. Koenig can't be throwing fastballs or fastball variants at 90-94 and be on the active roster. Either the IL or AAA.
  3. Crow looked strong, nothing hit particularly hard. Crazy to remember the whole debate a few years back around Seattle manipulating Jarred Kelenic's service time by keeping him down when he was like the #1 overall prospect. He's still hitless for AAA-Charlotte. Someone mentioned the possible need for another hard-throwing righty in the pen at some point. Not a triple digits hard thrower, but Childers could earn himself a look.
  4. Not having our big right-handed bats hurt. They were just marching lefties out of their pen. Wonder if Ortiz is banged up that he didn't pinch hit.
  5. Watching the Reds-Socks game and ABS overturning CB Bucknor left and right (and up and down) is a treat.
  6. Nashville feeling like the International League All Star Team with that lineup tonight and seven 40-man pitchers.
  7. Now Bauers making sure I don't call him the Cactus King in a derogatory way for at least another week!
  8. Excellent start by Miz, pouring on runs, 8/9 have reached base. Baseball is back!
  9. A modest ~$200k per inning for three years, assuming he misses next to no time.
  10. The kind of trade we have to be making. I'm pleased with the return. Hook 'n Hendy will have to turn Sproat into another quality piece. Full years of control on each is huge for one year of Peralta and the up-and-down Myers we saw last year. Williams is 5'7", also fitting our theme of acquiring former high draft picks and short guys.
  11. Will be fun to see Vogie. "Offense and Strategy Coordinator" for Lane seems to be the closest title to a typical "Bench Coach"?
  12. Getting blown out every game. The conversation's going to have to be whether Shaka wants to do it in the NIL and portal era or if he joins the Tony Bennett club. Trying to be the one who does it differently is program suicide. Other than James, there's not much to be excited about on the roster.
  13. I prefer Zerpa over Mears, for sure. If mid-August through October Collins is more the norm, this is a nice upgrade to the roster. If ROY favorite in early August Collins emerges again and we're running Akil Baddoo out there it will feel really bad.
  14. I'm more excited about our one addition than I am sad over our six losses.
  15. Over/under for Big East wins might be 3. This team is really bad. Can't not get a high major player for two recruiting classes in a row yet be too stubborn to take a transfer to fill that gap.
  16. We should plan on a nine man rotation, knowing at least four will always be injured. If we ever have the luxury of six starters, that would be quite the day.
  17. Welcome ̶b̶a̶c̶k̶,̶ ̶H̶o̶b̶y̶ Sammy!
  18. Bullpen is the last place we should be spending the little money we spend. Get Yoho and Yeager up, find a couple more MiLB free agents, perhaps a one year deal with a veteran and we're good enough.
  19. They will have to figure out how Isaac Collins factors in. Just over two months ago, he was the best hitter on the team and the ROY favorite. Not even a month later, he was the worst player on the team and that continued through the end of the year.
  20. Murph wants a lefty to face Ohtani and Freeman. He chose one who has failed to get Ohtani out three times in three games.
  21. The large market teams, in particular LA are cornering the market on Japan signings. And it pays for itself for them to keep the market cornered. Used to be a problem with Latin America until the signing pool. Needs to be addressed in the next CBA.
