  1. We own the Dodgers!*^ *in the regular season ^figuratively, if you couldn't tell given the payroll difference
  2. Did Sophia set the record with 10 "he said"s there?
  3. Huge one. I'd have had him out. Worked out better Murph's way.
  4. Got to be a horrible feeling to keep showing up to minor league teams on rehab and bombing the game for them. But that much worse when they've won 9 in a row.
  5. He won on Friday, so only 6 days ago. Still, we're now down to only a 28 win pace and going to need to vulture at least one over the weekend.
  6. Their constant 'sell the team' chants might have some merit.
  7. Patrick is our second or third best starter. But none of Sproat, Henderson, or Gasser can be trusted with Patrick's current role. Gasser probably compares vs. Drohan as the left-handed version of this role. It has greater difficulty and more important innings. Sproat and Henderson are tasked with trying to get about 5 innings of effective pitching in every 5-6 days. Patrick has to get through the later leverage innings, and where the starters get the routine bullpen between starts, Patrick's "bullpen" is a shorter relief appearance in leverage like last night.
  8. The Left center baskets in Wrigley are about as much of a unicorn homer magnet as that lame left field in Houston.
  9. Does he really have to give up 5 just for a chance at the win?
  10. A 3 batter inning would have been better, but the 0 is most important.
  11. Drohan and Harrison for: Durbin, hitting .165 and getting benched for a call-up. Mona. Nice man to have at the end of the bench, but out of option flexibility. Siegler, still in AAA. A comp pick that would complicate our bonus pool. Scammed Boston hard on that one. Though they did make us take Bunty.
  12. Rengifo so surprised he actually got a hit he just kept running.
  13. Not sure he picked up the ball well enough to challenge it. Fooled both the ump and the hitter.
  14. Just had Bauers' stat page up and my recency bias is really struggling with how he's still a negative WAR player for his career.
  15. Jett homers again today (and adds a triple). After the terrible start, has his season OPS over .800 (over 1.000 this month). They'll make a pitching roster move every day but refuse to make position player changes.
  16. When you need a sac fly but the guy who can't hit a ball past the pitcher is up.
  17. Can't wait for major offseason signing Akil Baddoo to finish his rehab assignment.
  18. Depth is a great thing. We have two starters on the IL, sent down a starter after an effective spot start (again), and still have our second or third best starter coming out of the bullpen to do stuff like this.
