  1. Does the team look as lifeless live as they do in the box scores? I haven't be able to justify handing out money to mlb.tv to watch the meltdown
  2. If one's expectations were based on preseason projections, they have played within that range to this point... BPro: 88 wins Vegas: 86.5 wins 538: 86 wins ZIPS: 85 wins Current Pace: 84 wins OOTP: 83 wins Expecting 90+ wins & an easy cruise to the postseason was always an unlikely outcome in an increasingly competitive NL. I expected a back & forth dog fight for the NL Central title/possible Wild Card that would need 162 games (or maybe even more, again) to settle & that is exactly what we've gotten. You must really love baseball to get all excited about the cubs cardinals back and forth dogfight for the nl central If anyone Considers this a “dogfight” for the division instead Of “who sucks the least” you need to watch a real Division race. The fact that we’re losing To two mediocre teams in the standings confirms the daily eye test. Suckville confirmed.
  3. We're not out of it, certainly. Lightning needs to strike somewhere on the team for any hope of a playoff appearance. They may not have the record they did last year, but I remember a similar feeling of continued .500 complacency to now. A strength needs to emerge, you don't make the playoffs being average or worse in all facets of the game (unless you're the Cardinals)
  4. Most of that is accounted for with a few blowouts. We had the worst run differential of playoff teams last year, and we were almost in the World Series. Last year we lost by 3-4, but won by 1-2. Same thing this year Except we had a fantastic bullpen last year and this year's bullpen smells like what comes out after babies eat crayons
  5. If you're counting on even most of those things to happen, we can officially declare this season dead then. Jeffress, Chacin, Burnes, etc. look to have nothing going on this year. Ditto with the offense. Individual stats are good for the most part, but there's no team execution just like every other Brewers team. We were great down the stretch last year because yelich seemingly hit a two run homer in the first inning of every game with cain on base. Cain shows no signs of turning things around either. Time is runnin' out
  6. Finding ways to lose....I would say the last two years we've been overachieving and this year is just averaging the situation out. I get the lack of talent and failure/ injuries with the pitching but the offense continually has no excuse. Stearns, I'm sure was relying on the offense to bail out the pitching and it simply hasn't been happening.
  7. No one should seriously consider playing Shaw at this point either. Is that really an opinion? He’s awful this year. We can’t score runs as is. He shouldn’t be on the major league roster for a competing team. I guess the arguments are getting more pointless and irrational as the team drags on. I get giving him a fresh start next year but really?
  8. I get sick of thinking it and saying, but why on Earth does this lineup struggle so much? It's not just tonight or against crappy pitching, but against everyone. Just stop not being able to hit starting pitching with all the damn talent.
  9. Not sure if we even pick up Jeremy’s option next year. How on earth is he this bad?
  10. I'll all for literally curb stomping Quintana. Creep can roll man. Sweep them and trade for some pitching without overpaying! We're winning games with only two pitchers on the starting staff so why not expect aces without many prospects?
  11. Boy, sure would suck to have more players like games. In all seriousness, why do many dislike him here? He has everything this team needs aside from pitching
  12. I’ll take hiura for king Felix In his prime. Anything else? No thanks. If Shaw takes one start from hiura we’re recruiting the Area 51 group to Stearns office.
  13. yuck. I hope this isn’t the end of the positive streAk, but things do not look good. It’s likely too late to sell as well.
  14. It’s not just you specifically, But I don’t understand the Bauer is going to be traded crowd. The Indians are light years better than us. I get that they’re in a crowded AL picture but the twins have a far better chance of folding than succeeding.
  15. How can someone who is viewed by most as a really solid 4th outfielder who can start a few games a week be overrated? No one is aiming he should start every day although it is very likely he would get better if he played more consistently. That is just reality. If you had one out and a runner on third in a tie playoff game-Gamel is literally the perfect player for that. He's a professional hitter and he's great in the field. But hey, let's bring up random guy who's sucked his whole life from Rookie ball because Gamel doesn't swing with his eyes closed like the rest of the team! The option Gamel movement is probably the most ridiculous idea I've seen outside of the talk of trading Yelich/ Woodruff now to maximize return. lol
  16. Looks like a great day where nearly all of your good hitters are on the bench and your only good starter (hopefully) not seriously injured. I guess I don't need to say the Woodruff-less Brewers probably don't win 80 games this year.... hopefully he's ok.
  17. Is Thames leading the league in called third strikes? He’s on rickie weeks level
  18. Heck Devin Williams should come up too. Gotta try anything at this point.
  19. At this point with the lack of options on the trade Market, I’m not sure there will be three quality arms that can be acquired. What an odd year
  20. We can’t give up the prospects it would take to get 3 arms. I agree, which is why it appears We’re out of luck. Our only hope Is that the offense can get back to winning slugfests
  21. Gio Can replace houser and whatever starter we Get can bump chacin. One starter, two bullpen arms. Then you’ve got yourself a team.
  22. Let's just end this now. I may be crazy but his swing reminds me of Bagwell. I couldn’t agree more. Jeff Bagwell has been the Hiura swing comp in my mind for the past couple of years. I wouldn’t be shocked if Hiura fills out even more from a strength perspective and has a similar body comp as well. It’s sometimes forgotten this is what Jeff Bagwell looked like at 22 years old... And 23 years old... http://beckett-www.s3.amazonaws.com/news/news-content/uploads/2017/01/1991-Stadium-Club-Jeff-Bagwell-RC1.jpg I’m thinking Bagwell might have had some artificial help in filling out He was one of the worst steroid abusers as were many in Houston. He just wasn't as good as Sosa/Bonds/Big Mac so he wasn't as focused on. Remember Bagwell's buddy Ken Caminiti
