I would say as long as we ink a couple decent relievers and starters to compliment the young pitchers we have across the board it would be very possible to compete next year. Who's this amazing team that will dominate the central in 2013? Sure, the cardinals will have some giant (and suspicious) over achievers, the reds will be solid and so will the pirates. At this point we look like a 4th place finisher but i very highly doubt that melvin won't add a couple bullpen arms along with a starter to make a solid team again. Mark A seems to have no intentions of rebuilding ever.

It's just getting impressive at this point that the rest of the team tries at all anymore. I would be randy mossing the rest of the season away personally.

personally i'd like to see k rod for mop up duty to see how bad things can get. At least that would be entertaining

Never mind on fiers succeeding at coors. Now i will drink some coors along with my words.

Fiers seems like the type that can actually pitch at coors. Along those lines I'm very, very glad gallardo doesn't pitch in this series.

Just got home from work, awesome to see my guy Rogers put up a great line.... why aren't we outright dropping these bums out of the bullpen? I was saying that everyone but axford could go but now he's creeping into the other category

Even though he normally has stupid confidence (huge swings on 0-2), It seems like he finally has real confidence and a decent approach. I agree on him starting the rest of the year. If he finishes hot and some other team is convinced he's reaching his potential I would definitely deal him if he's part of a package for an ace.

So when marcum comes back, can we please have Wolf claimed on waivers by the nationals? They could claim veras, K rod, etc too... Thank D.C.

Although I feel like Wolf's contract was not necessarily a big mistake, I will be very glad when his name no longer appears in IGT's.

Speaking of minor league closers, I'd like to see kintzler get a shot in september. Doug and Co were pretty high on him the last few years as I recall

I'm definitely on board with Gamel to right field. Unless he's part of a bigger trade for an Ace there's no reason to get rid of him when you essentially have two centerfielders starting in CF/ RF everyday. -

I usually do not complain about an umpire. However, this homeplate umpire is amazingly awful tonight.... it's called a corner, learn what that means.

Very excited for this. I've always had a feeling he'd have an impact... better late than never (hopefully). Gotta give fireballers every chance they can get.

yes aoki is clearly the best leadoff option. RR not seeing this is past a joke at this point. Have morgan/ gomez in the 2 hole simply to bunt him over. That makes too much sense though.

To address the gomez issue, would it be a good idea to start Gomez everyday once/ if we sell? To finally put that issue to bed? I would greatly be in favor of that even though I have little hope for Go Go
