  1. I was thinking of this and it really comes down to if Mark A. Is getting sick of the yearly competitive but never really a threat scenario. Could we put together a package for bell, Corbin & soto taking 2/3 of Corbin’s contract? You’d definitely trade soto after 2023 to recoup some value and be operating in the far red next year, but it might be worth it IMO for two legitimate shots. brewers get; soto, bell, Corbin and 20 million. nationals get; chourio, frelick, small, Kelly, Turang, hiura, tellez. You could even include a Taylor as a “player to be named later” or a perez if it’s still too light on potential high end talent. the brewers have a rare combination now of high end prospects, major league ready prospects and current MLB players that may still develop into above average major leaguers (Taylor, hiura, tellez) that an organization that has developed a ton of hitting can fix. it’s a long shot, but could happen if they want it bad enough IMO.
  2. Great to see the offense pick up the pitching in this series even if it’s Rockies pitching. Would be nice to get some decent middle relief options now.
  3. Well it’s great we’re pouring everything out we have and still can’t overcome the likes of the Rockies.
  4. I wonder If we traded for both bell and Soto if they’d magically become terrible on the brewers as well.
  5. Exactly. If hader, peralta and woodruff can’t execute we stand no chance. I agree a middle relief option should be acquired for a B prospect but that’ should be a long term type player. Scoring a few runs once and awhile isn’t getting it done, despite some peoples rosiest glasses
  6. A very poorly trending team does this but I hope the new mods keep things like this under wraps. The requirement of adult conversation has been why most of us have been here a long time.
  7. That doesn’t fly on this site. Stop it. No matter the context.
  8. Just saw the balk. Granted, our hitting sucks but thats the worst call I’ve ever seen. Counsel may have completely lost the clubhouse on this if he hasn’t lost It already. Have an energy drink or something dude good lord
  9. Still hasn’t really gotten the ball Rolling this year. Hopefully the meds are working and this is just poor command that will be fixed eventually.
  10. at this point it looks like we need peralta 100%, josh bell, Bryan Reynolds, and a very good middle reliever. If we trade our whole minor league system it may be possible!
  11. We need to trade for Quintana. Its At least a two game swing since I’m sure the cardinals will get him otherwise and throw him out there once a series against the crew.
  12. Really struggling against trash teams lately. Can’t expect the bullpen to save the lineup 100% of the time
  13. Yeah his breaking stuff looks much, much better than earlier in the year. He must have been dealing with it for awhile.
  14. I was going to trash Willy adames this year until I looked at the advanced stats. A BAbip .101 below his career average with a hard hit rate slightly better and only a slightly elevated strikeout rate. He’s really just having an unlucky year that should turn around at some point here.
  15. I was just thinking this about small. If we won’t start him ahead of chi chi and George, there’s almost no way he’s a major piece in a trade and thus limits us greatly. You just can’t give up two of weimer/Mitchell/frelick/chourio. I don’t see us landing any substantial pieces at the deadline, sadly.
  16. These AB’s on a basic slider and low velocity, straight as a string fastball are nauseating.
  17. Looks like we’re going to have to figure out the unbelievable cubs pitcher Steele- this lineup SHOULD be able To do something against a poor/ average LHP
  18. Hopefully rowdy keeps progressing like this. I think he can be a .260/.340/.500 guy with 30-35 homers. I wouldn’t give him so many days off, especially for guys like hiura anymore.
  19. I think we’re past the “this is ridiculous” status on the injury front. Is the brewers training staff from Saint Louis? Did Wes helms throw a tarp in the dugout?
  20. Well we don’t have to worry about houser getting a large arby raise. On the other side, he won’t be worth a lot in a trade anymore either.
  21. really bad timing for Lauer and houser to keep getting lit up.
  22. I think we can go ahead and pay almost any price for some hitting. one “splash” and a few incremental upgrades. There isn’t a ton out there, but we can certainly improve a few positions.
  23. The nibbling on the corners needs to stop. Especially against crappy hitters.
