  1. Yes. You need to make a decision in the offseason if you’re actually going to go for it, or not. It looks like we are going into a transition to the next “window” and in that frame we will need to add some one to ashby/ peralta, with corner infielders that are typical 3/4 batters. take a shot at extending burnes, or use him to get another ace and two big bats on the infield. you’d have to think the big markets would give us anything and everything for him.
  2. Ahhh I see mr steroids is back again. I guess the cards need 1-2 obvious steroid freaks per decade.
  3. Unbelievably easy decision to have hiura at DH and mccutchen on the bench. Maybe it’s the long game to not make the playoffs as an excuse to trade burnes/ woodruff ?
  4. Glad we addressed our horrible hitting against lefties. great job!
  5. Yeah if machado gets DFA’d soon count me in on the padres bandwagon. If not, would rather see the braves come out of the NL again.
  6. Sadly, mlb.tv realized my apple pay credit card card been cancelled since April so I can’t fully watch this circus. the 3.5 months free was nice!
  7. So much for the “run preventing” team. I see a major overhaul in the offseason
  8. Well things seem to be going well here. think I’ll check on the MILB box scores.
  9. Anyone else debating watching AAA instead of The major league team these days? hopefully the brewers can wake up…
  10. It’s depressing for me that I didn’t even know watch yesterday or today after the trade deadline, just sending we’d collapse. I hope it doesn’t continue. the cardinals better at least thank us if they win the division with that awful roster (again)
  11. It’s weird that a swing for the fences offense had three home runs and couldn’t come back. Sure could’ve used some hitting. I’ll give burnes a break since his performances the past three years show his worth
  12. Maybe burnes drank what stearns did before he traded for rosenthal? Pass me a bottle guys
  13. Stearns gets a D. I like the hader trade a lot, but at some point you need a run producer, or at least someone they have to semi-pitch around and improve the pitches the other hitters see in the lineup. I have serious doubts this organization can develop hitting the way they apparently think they can since yelich and hiura are on three solid years without being fixed. We haven’t produced anyone off the farm since what, Lucroy? Look at the 1b production since fielder left, and now we have a second position (DH) that will continue to be a black hole versus playoff contenders.
  14. The last two deadlines now are inexcusable IMO. every offense gets hot like the brewers have been and were for awhile last year, that doesn’t mean they can do that against top notch pitching. This is like the packers approach on offense vs the 49ers in the playoffs year after year. You can’t make the padres, dodgers and Mets score negative runs in the playoffs.
  15. We’re saving the overwhelming package of lindbloom and severino for soto, bell and their first round picks for the next ten years ?
  16. We’re saving the overwhelming package of lindbloom and severino for soto, bell and their first round picks for the next ten years ?
  17. Well, that’s the least surprising move of the deadline. With three series left against the cardinals, there’s a strong possibility of three more wins from this. In my mind you have to counter that with a strong lefty killer or two.
  18. Agreed. He’s around my yadier Molina level of hate but has had borderline success in his career. Plus, who aside from sugar ray still bleaches and tips their hair? This isn’t 2000 bro
  19. I think today tells (IMO) us simply that they’re going for rentals and will refocus in the offseason. They want to build the farm and still go for it this year. If they were all in for next year, they would have kept hader. I was hoping for a splash in devers, but realize they’ll likely go for JD Martinez and/ or Josh Bell as previously discussed. they shouldn’t cost a top ten prospect (now that the top ten is better). I could see another good rental bullpen arm added as well.
  20. Sweep the Red Sox and bring devers/ Martinez back with us!!! I know they’ve said they won’t trade devers, but I think everyone is available on this team given the state of the AL east
  21. Yelich seems to have his contact skills back. he also seems to realize he has been getting meatballs the first pitch for a couple years now. Next? Try to elevate that first pitch hard contact and knock a few out!
  22. Why not both? we have DH and 1b occupied by very mediocre bats. Yelich, Adames, bell & Martinez would actually score some runs. I think they’d rather take on salary then moving up the quality of the prospect 5-6 spots, IMO.
  23. I just threw it from That distance to home in my sons practice as an overly bulky 37 year old. Mccutchen had a horrible break towards home as well. hopefully that dude hits well enough to DH….
  24. Gustave and gott are not acceptable options with a lead anymore.
  25. I say we drive the price up for the cardinals, they get him and have 120 million between three hitters and Corbin and no pitching (as well as no future). then-pivot to josh bell and JD Martinez and be much better than them, especially with peralta returning.
