I am sure the Brewers can find a team in need of a backup or every day SS somewhere in the league to send Alex if it comes down to cutting him or trading him. I'd much rather the brewers trade him for a MiLB pitcher from any level than just let him walk for nothing (granted he's not worth much at all right now)

westbrook holds a 6-1 lead through 6? wait, whats that?! the CARDINALS bullpen is messing up?! WE HAVE A CHANCE????? http://i.imgur.com/h8eUL.gif brewers lost 6-5.

clearly, he hasnt played in Miller Park yet. heres hoping the staff in Miller Park make the scoreboard ribbons brighter during the cardinal at bats!

Axford Actually, this is a pretty interesting point. I know that, technically, there's a difference between "sign stealing" and "tipping pitches," but it seems teams only claim indignation when it's framed as the former. The Pirates starting pitching really wasn't good in this last series. It just wasn't. Even in the unlikely case that Brewer hitters knew what pitch was coming, it still doesn't mean they have a case for complaint. For all we know, the team scouted well or saw something on video to indicate the Pirates' staff was "tipping." Information comes in all kinds of ways. Someone with a binoculars is probably the least likely source. off-topic, your username is awesome.

quickest way for something to go away is to ignore it. confronting the teams to prove it brings in the microscope to EVERYTHING. and its childish.

Ha, at this time of year, in Pittsburgh? Never been there myself, but I'm guessing a big "no", on that one. Heck I could go the Friday night Brewer game for free, but I'm saying home to watch the Pens. GO PENGUINS !!! 15 more !! (Pens fan since the late 80s. Steelers since the late 70s.) I was being sorta sarcastic after the 5-0 win last night over the isles I dont think anyone here even remembers that the baseball team won a game in a town theyve only won 5 in the last 6 years. im a big pens fan, pirates are my #2 MLB team, but screw the steelers, go PACKERS!

Aoki Segura Braun Ramirez Lucroy Weeks Betancourt/Gomez Gomez/Betancourt Pitcher I still think you put Weeks 6th, force them to pitch to him in attempt to avoid a 7/8 of Yuni and Gomez who both are hitting the ball well. I think if you put Weeks 8th in front of the pitcher, thats two easy outs, they'll pitch around Weeks, causing him to swing at balls nowhere near the plate, knowing that they'll have the pitcher next who, outside of Yo, is generally not a threat to pitch at to force an out or a double play.

huh, well maybe I should turn up the radio to see if anyone is paying attention to anything unrelated to NHL playoffs
  12. torts
I agree with you! And I feel like Nelson is following the path Burgos laid in front of him!
  13. torts
now, I just want to point out, I have not heard a thing about this on the radio here in pittsburgh today or last night... but seriously, it screams of desparation from a team with a 20 YEAR losing streak. Also, TLR was just a crotchety old man who complained to hear his own voice.
  14. torts
can we fire him from being weeks' and gonzalez's hitting coach? clearly he doesnt get it.
  15. torts
also, wandy sucks at miller park, were they stealing HOU signs? JMac has been a disaster this year and 2nd half of last year. clearly, teams are stealing his signs, its the only explanation for his decline
  16. torts
haev they been stealing signs since 2007?

    TOMMY GORZO?!
  19. torts
I understand Weeks and his offensive potential, and the fact he's locked up for 2 years for 20 million... but with Scooter hitting .400+ in AAA, I seriously cannot understand HOW WEEKS IS PLAYING EVERY DAMN GAME!!!!!@$%!@$%@%@$#^

cant wait for axford to take over the closer position!

Why is this bad? If a manager thinks his pitcher can get a bunt down, might as well have him do it instead of wasting a PH. with 2k already, isnt it generally a bad move to have anyone, let alone a pitcher, bunt?
  22. torts
nothing like playing the pirates for a rookie pitcher to get his strike out ratio up, 6K through 5 IP so far! way to go bur-go(s)!
