  1. heres who is currently on the 40 man roster. I cut out everyone at the MLB level, or on the DL/out for the year. basically, to bring anyone not on this list up to the Brewers, they'd have to cut these guys from the 40-man, to clear a space, and, if im not mistaken, expose them to waiver claims. 40-man Roster PITCHERS #-- Fautino De Los Santos RHP #67 Santo Manzanillo RHP #-- Ariel Pena RHP #60 Wily Peralta RHP #-- Josh Stinson RHP #63 Tyler Thornburg RHP CATCHERS INFIELDERS #14 Jeff Bianchi SS #33 Eric Farris 2B #-- Hector Gomez SS #5 Taylor Green 1B/3B OUTFIELDERS #54 Caleb Gindl OF #22 Logan Schafer OF
  2. I had to capture part of his rant and put it in my signature so we never forget his prediction
  3. Morris could get a call up once the AA season is over, might not get any playtime, just the opportunity for MLB experience, but I think that would be a great way to congratulate him on such an awesome season.
  4. I back this idea for bullpen arms bet the bench bats called up will include Green and Bianchi
  5. I'd bet the farm the 2013 payroll doesn't even come within $5M of $95M. I agree, that estimation accounts for arbitration players earning more than they'll actually get. just by reducing a couple arb awards would take it down $5mil
  6. I would be shocked if he didnt get a standing O if he is starting
  7. Tom H. tweeted that the brewers view Fiers as valuable for 2013 and will be monitoring his innings the rest of the season. aka, he'll be shutdown sometime in September when callups are made
  8. you think Bradley should be brought up to AA next year? you dont think he needs another year in A+?
  9. I have a stubhub ticket I could email you from that game if you want
  10. you guys need to look at baseball reference, they have a great setup for all payroll and arbitration years for players http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/MIL/2012-roster.shtml next season garunteed payroll, at this time, with no options exercised and including buyouts puts the 2013 Brewers payroll at $49.8 million dollars. they currently have 10 players in arbitration, (4 1st yr, 2 2nd yr, 3 3rd yr, 1 4th yr) with estimated cost of $40.2 million dollars. other players to fill out the roster, they need about 8 to fill the 25-man, based on 1 yr avg of pre-arb contracts, those 8 players cost about $5.8 million dollars. The estimated payroll total for 2013, with no options exercised, all arbitration cases payed out on average per year, and the additional pre-arb players to fill out roster, puts the brewers at $95.8 million dollars. the biggest variable will be what players are awarded in arbitration. there is definitely a case for Axford to not get above the avg for 1st yr arby players, and its assuming players like Morgan, Parra, and Veras are all on the team to collect their 3rd yr arbitration contracts (all will be over current contracts of $2.ish mil a yr). So payroll could be "slimmed down" by winning arbitration cases against these players and paying them less than they're asking for. this also still accounts for Kottaras and Ishikawa still on the payroll, too, as 1st and 2nd yr arb players.
  11. Billy Hamilton has been on base 205 times in A+/AA ball, he's scored 97 times.he's scoring almost 50% of the time he gets on base! probably has something to do with his 131 stolen bases this year in 109 games...
  12. his name is Billy Hamilton, stealing every base is his game.
  13. I agree. his performance in LA could be used for GM's in other large markets to justify whatever offer they submit to him.
  14. I don't get it. Texas is in America. texan politics, Texas IS America
  15. KABOOOOOM!!!! HOW SWEEP IT IS!!!!
  16. also, its funny Texas has two AMERICAN league teams now
  17. cant we ask the Astro's if we can go to the AL instead and just solve all our problems and put Hart as the DH?
  18. the Carry-in policy, is that just for food or drinks, too? That was something new to me! We brought in sandwiches and peanuts, didnt try anything to drink, but that was new to me! Pretty sure you cant bring anything in to PNC Park
  19. PNC Park feels like a park, Miller Park feels like a stadium, and I feel like even in the upper deck last row you probably feel closer to the field/action in Miller Park than at PNC. in PNC you're so far up and away its sometimes hard to watch the game the giant screen is incredible.
  20. here you go Starting pitchers Bronson Arroyo (37) Nick Blackburn (32) - $8MM club option Dallas Braden (30) A.J. 21. it might just be because I go to a lot of games there as it is, and it was my first trip to Miller Park, so it might be skewed
  22. ive been to a number of stadiums, only a handful of new ones, but I think Miller Park is my favorite one of them all. We drove out sunday to see family friends and to go to Mondays game (and the state fair, cream puffs FTW), but man, what a great park you guys have!! I havent been to a brewers home game since 1991, they lost to the Indians at county stadium, so this was a long time coming. Everyone we encountered was so nice and pleasant, even the reds fans around us (would never happen in pittsburgh). I know my dad and I are going to try to make the trip yearly now, not sure if my wife and mother will come along, but we'll definitely be coming. We didnt get much of a chance to walk around the entire park, but we were sitting in section 223, great view, and really easy to get around. Some parks get so congested and frustrating to navigate through, but we didnt have any issues! Ive never eaten so much cheese/dairy in one day in my life. Also, I havent seen the brewers WIN at home since 1986. I was 5, ha!
  23. I hope he doesnt, he could be a good bat off the bench
  24. Totally agree. Jean Segura maybe, for need. Though I could see a stop-gap to begin 2013 while he finishes up in AAA. It just seems to me that prospects should be making the club put them on the roster. Earn your position, don't have it given to you. I dont think trying to bring back Gonzalez to SS for one year is a bad idea, im sure he'd be willing to do that, and it would give Segura another year to develop before taking over in 2014, possibly.
