  1. nothing like the bad news bears to help brighten the day!
  2. how many positions does he play?
  3. we need to collect all the multi-position players we can! sign me up1
  4. totally agree, MadScientist.
  5. He should refuse to go through sensitivity training if he honestly doesn't have those beliefs anymore, or never had them. And I've been as hard on him as anyone, but how can you be trained to be sensitive if you already are? there is literally nothing wrong with reinforcing his changed behavior with more training. nothing.
  6. Yes. Every person should have to explain every flash in the pan from high school. I should have to answer for why I lit a flaming bag of dog poo on fire sophomore year or pulling Jenny's bra strap in the hallway in 8th grade. I can't believe there are people who want to go down this road. I can't believe you're trying to compare racism/sexism/homophobia to adam sandler jokes but here we are
  7. I wish Twitter wouldn't let you delete anything. If you put it out in the public, and 8 years later someone finds it, you should have to explain yourself, regardless if you have changed or not. Just because you stop tweeting it doesn't necessarily mean that you no longer believe those things. Trout, Schwarber, Hader, etc., they all seem like nice guys, but thats because they KNOW the camera is on them right now. No one on here knows these guys in person, so we all rely on the public persona they display. If we find out they were terrible people in the past, they should have to explain themselves.
  8. Braun has gone weeks and months without playing and people have not forgotten. Also, I feel like this issue is a bit more sensitive for many people. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I'm not so sure this is going to "go away" as fast as some believe it will. maybe its because I didnt say it, but the media part you cut out, I was implying that the media wont let us forget (partially/mainly because of money). It'll resonate within the Milwaukee area without the national media attention, but on a national level, it wont without attention from national media.
  9. Maybe, I don't see this sticking that long. Locally it will have legs, but I think this is buried on a national level in a couple of days. He isn't a big enough star for it to stick like that. He's a relief pitcher without even the branding of being a "closer." Loads of people never heard of the guy until yesterday. I don't think people will be booing him two years from now. I just don't think he has that kind of hold. The rest of the season, for sure, but I think it's fairly short-lived. he's not going to get the treatment Braun gets, thats for sure. he's going to get negativity towards him from other fans/stadiums.. but he doesn't play in every game, and all it takes is a week of him not playing for people to "forget". Now, ESPN/The Athletic/Fox Sports/Etc.... they probably wont let it go because of clickbait/revenue associated with this type of stuff.
  10. a vast majority of adults today did not have public social media accounts when they were teenagers. these adults were born into society already breaking social communication barriers with the knowledge that what goes on the internet stays on the internet. Yes, a lot of adults of all generations have/had/do say terrible things, even as teenagers, but most of those adults were "privileged" to be born in the dark ages of technology. adults should be held accountable for their actions at any age. I dont care if its been 5 years or 50 years, you say something hateful, and you make yourself a public figure, you should have to explain yourself when it is found. hate festers. also, no one* creates private twitter accounts, it defeats the purpose (especially for young kids/adults), and the platform we all know Twitter to be is less than 10 years old. Hader is also a public figure, and puts himself and whatever he makes public, fair game for scrutiny. he's already made his twitter account private. *okay, some do.

  17. 12 - -1 here we go!
  18. plz consider yourself bant
  19. Originally my thought. But they need an OF'er , don't they? With everyone hurt.. we cant lean on Thames and Perez in the OF can we? of the 74 games this season Orf has only 8 in the OF. i'd rather lean on Thames and Perez than Orf in the OF.
  20. ANY OF THEM, ALL OF THEM, THE BULLPEN, WE WILL WIN NO MATTER WHAT! BRING ON A GREINKE-LEVEL TRADE! BRING ON A SABBATHIA-LEVEL TRADE! PULL. THE. TRIGGER.
