  1. Be cool if Marcum signed for $10M too.
  2. No one is wallowing in negativity. We're just talking about what selling can get us.
  3. Sky is the limit. Sky = profar It will take a ton to get him. If anyone thinks we get Profar straight up for Greinke they're foolish. I think Greinke for Olt can happen though.
  4. Loe to the Cards for an old Pujols poster to put in the urinal.
  5. I'd still rather promote a lefty from Nashville. He won't be much worse than Wolf and you can season him in hopes of bettering him.
  6. I was gonna say, Olt has one year in AA. I wouldn't mind him staying in the minors this year and the beginning of next year. I'd hope the Brewers would put him on the sounds right away, not send him to huntsville at first.
  7. Or an even better idea than that is lighting $10 million on fire. exactly what I was thinking. I'd rather promote a lefty from Nashville than pay Wolf again.
  8. Olt would be more than enough for a 2 month rental, seriously. Wanting more is asking for too much and it won't happen.
  9. Perfect game through 3 with 4K's PULL'EM AND DEAL'EM!
  10. He's arguably the top prospect out there. The Rangers keep saying they refuse to deal him because of that, but we shall see. Either way, it's going to take more than a 2 month rental to get him. I'm thinking Greinke, Maldanado, and a minor leaguer or two.
  11. I hope Doug does whatever it takes to get Profar. If it takes more than Greinke, fine.
  12. What Aramis is set to make going forward... 2013:$10M 2014:$16M 2015: mutual option ($4M buyout) plus the Brewers are paying him $2M in 2015 and 2016 to meet the $36M mark he signed for (they delegated the salary out like that to stay competitive)
  13. KRod's stock couldn't get much lower.
  14. If Dempster doesn't block the trade and he goes to ATL, the Cubs get Delgado. Now, there's a lot of different top 100 prospect lists, and most of them differ from each other, but Delgado is a top 50 prospect on every list, and a top 20 prospect on a lot of lists as well. That's a good deal for the Cubs. The fish got Jacob Turner in return for Anibal Sanchez and Omar Infante. Turner, like Delgado, is a top 20 prospect in most lists, and at least a top 40 prospect in all of them. I hope the Brewers get AT LEAST a top 40 prospect for Greinke, going off of what has gone down so far. Personally, I'd be all about throwing in a Maldanado or something similar with Greinke for a top 10 prospect like Profar, but that's probably wishful thinking/pipe dream.
  15. It has nothing to do with the fact that CC and Prince are so much better, it has to do with today's market and the demand for starting pitching. It's a pitchers league now a days. FA ace pitchers can and will rake it in. Zack will get overpaid due to the current market. I agree I'm glad the Brewers won't be the team overpaying, but I also get why he will be overpaid.
  16. I have tix to the Wed day game of that series. Not sure if I'm going though.
  17. Turnnnnnnnbow and Gagne days, amongst others.
  18. that says it all right there. I think torts knows the current product is a turd sandwich, but his MO is too keep on rooting as if they're playoff contenders, and that's fine. People like that sell tickets and generate $$$ for the team. In a way I wish there were more like torts. Not that I share his optimism or agree, but people like torts are good for the overall fan base.
  19. That will suck (the bolded), especially because of the new rules. Please pitch good tonight Zack. We need a solid return! For those of you holding out hope that he signs with the Brewers, I'm sorry, but if he turned down the 5yr $112M deal, he's not coming back.
  20. Gotta hope Zack throws a good game tonight. If he throws another stinker teams are going to hesitate.
  21. Top prospect for Aramis? seriously? If Melvin just gets someone to take that contract it's a win.
  22. 1IP 1HA 3BB 2K 1ER 35 pitches 0.2IP 3HA 3BB 4ER L 35 pitches ^ the lines in KRod's last two games Gonna get some PHAT prospects after other GM's see those stats!
  23. Ben Sheets would have. Wolf took it in the shorts last night in the same manner. He's been bad this year but better lately. Seriously though, your post that I quoted torts, it reminded me of old (bad) brewer teams and watching Sheets throw his glove and become irate in the dugout after the brewers bullpen would blow a win on him. I remember one game I was in Vegas. Sheets vs. the Rockies. Sheets left in the 7th with a 6-0 lead. Brewers lost that game 8-6. I put $300 on the crew in that game. I don't know who was more ticked off, myself or Sheets.
  24. Was that sarcastic? They're playing well as of late. They have all their injured guys back.
