  1. TheCrew07 - What is your point? You quoted me where I said that the top 10 panned out over the years. Do you think the Brewers will get a top 10 prospect for Greinke? I don't. Top 30 hopefully, top 50 at the least.
  2. They usually aren't but weren't they the other finalist in the Hanley Ramirez sweepstakes? The A's wanted the Marlins to absorb a bunch of Hanley's money in that possible deal. That's why Hanley went to the Dodgers instead, as LA took all he is owed. I doubt the Brewers will trade Aramis and absorb some of his contract.
  3. Shields has not been that good this year. 4.39ERA 1.44WHIP Take away his Cy young candidate year last year, and his career is nothing compared to Greinke's as well.
  4. Oakland isn't a "take on money" type of organization, so to say.
  5. We can agree they both are turds. CoCo was blowing saves for the Jays before they shipped him to the Astros.
  6. The Brewers won't trade for Alexei Ramirez even if the ChiSox offer him. They're not looking to add money. 12:$5M, 13:$7M, 14:$9.5M, 15:$10M, 16:$10M club option ($1M buyout) ^ is what Alexi is due. plus what turborickey said...
  7. I agree about trading Morgan as well. Give Green and Schafer regular AB's rest of season and let them sink or swim. It will help a lot as far as knowing what we have and what we need for next year.
  8. I don't think 9 out of 10 prospects considered top 1-2 in the game at any given moment end up failing. I guess I don't understand what a "top 1-2 in the game" means. I went and looked back. Out of the top 10 prospects for the last 5 years, more than not did pan out, but once you expand it to the top 20 prospects and especially top 50 prospects, more than not did not pan out. Obviously if the Brewers land a top 10 prospect for Greinke, that's awesome, but that may also be a feat.
  9. I just hope there's not much too Teheran's bad year in AAA so far. His ERA is almost 6.
  10. CoCo is worse, or at least on the same level. He took over the closer role in Houston and blew his first two saves just as bad as KRod. Not a good year to have any relievers named Francisco.
  11. Maybe I was exaggerating 1 out of 10 at least though.
  12. or it was a PR move and they knew he wouldn't bite, much like the CC and Prince offers. but either way (and I think you said it yourself), the Brewers could have signed Greinke to that offer and still kept the payroll between $85-$90M. They're not a $100M payroll team. Not yet. Need one of those super TV deals like the Angels got. Devil's advocate - let's say they are capable of a $100M payroll...is it worth hitting the $100M mark even though you know they more than likely won't be contending next year? No, it's not.
  13. ^ exactly 1 out of 100 prospects pan out. For every Mike Trout, there's 99 Matt LaPorta's
  14. I actually went and looked this up.FA 3B in 2013 David Wright Kevin Youkliss Mark Reynolds Placido Polanco Scott Rolen Ty Wiggington Brandon Inge It is a short list, fwiw. Wright will take huge $$$. Youk is towards the backend of his career, but id take him if the price was right. He'd mash at miller park. Reynolds can hit 40HR's if you don't mind dealing with his 220 strike outs and his 220avg the rest are meh Wiggington can play all infield positions sans SS and has pop. I think he'd come cheap as well. I'd take him.
  15. Then they can trade or bring someone up or something. I highly doubt it will be an unfillable hole. Move someone from another position to 3B even.
  16. ^ this Green for awhile was the brewers best hitter in Nashville, stats wise. He's still never got everyday AB's in the bigs. Trade A-Ram so the Brewers don't have to pay the heavily back-end load of the contract, try Green out at 3B for the rest of the season. If Green doesn't pan out, then the Brewers have the money to sign a 3B in the offseason.
  17. I'd say that'll be the goal now. Take him for his salary.
  18. Beckam blows. He's more than had his chance.
  19. He got his top 10 prospect status due to his minor league numbers before this year. Last year in AAA - 2.55ERA 1.18WHIP 122K's in 144IP He's been a bit of a turd this year in AAA though 5.34ERA 1.48WHIP 64K's in 91IP Had a spot start against Toronto. Went 4IP, with 5K's but gave up 4ER
  20. That's awesome! GREINKE AND ARAMIS TO THE DOYERS!!!!!
